Arguing For Change

For our argumentative essay, find something that you would like to see changed in the world and
write a letter or email or op-ed to someone/something who/that can actually do something about
the problem. The recipient of this letter could be a politician, company, news organization, or
anyone else who can do something.

Your argument can be about anything, ranging from global issues to politics to speed limits, but
it should showcase all of our argumentative skills, show understanding of the argumentative
form, have a thoughtful and respectful tone, and be your best work. It need not be sent, though
you will get five points of extra credit for actually sending it.

The rough draft is due Tuesday, Dec. 4 and the final draft is due Tuesday, Dec. 11.
