Laser pulse duration – TRT of targets
Exposure times for blood vessels should be shorter than their thermal relaxation times
Complete heating is achieved without risks of thermal damage of the surrounding tissues
(Selective Photothermolysis).
Exposure times range from 10 to 80 milliseconds for telangiectasia, following the vessel’s
diameter.
The power output of the laser must be high enough to permit adequate energy density
for vessel coagulation within this time (Energy = Power x Time).
