1) Get away with: Avoid punishment for something. (T.I)


2) Run over: Hit somebody or something while you are driving and knock them to the

3) Knock out: Hit somebody hard so that they become unconscious. (T.S)
4) Come round: Become conscious again after being knocked out. (I)
5) Get out of: Avoid doing something you don’t want to do. (T.I)

1) Author / novelist.
2) Chick lit: A genre of fiction literature which focuses on young woman and their
emotional lives.
3) Plot: The story of a book, film, play, etc.
4) Blurb: A short description of the book´s contents found on the back cover.
5) Best-sellers.
6) Browse: Walk around a shop looking at things, but without planning to buy
anything.
7) Flick / Flip through: Look quickly at the pages of a book, magazine, newspaper, etc.
8) Hardback: A book that has a thick, stiff cover.
