Urdu is a modern Indian language spoken and understood all over India. It
is largely used in media like films and Television. Urdu poetry especially Ghazals
and Qawalis are popular in all regions. Knowledge of Urdu language and literature
will be very much helpful in getting jobs in various fields.
Urdu literature is enriched with basic human, social, cultural and secular
values.
The three articles written by renowned writers Hali, Abdul Haq and Mirza
Farhathulla Baig where the prose is simple at the same time interesting, with
valuable topics like importance of Urdu language, characteristics of the poet
Ghalib, who was not just a great poet but also a good human being. “Naye aur

between old and new culture.
