II. The general description of the work

II.1 Description of work

a) The purpose of investment is situated in Romania , judetul Alba.

The local road J-24 is situated on the Western versant of Podisul Tarnavelor (Depresiunea
Transilvaniei) , with a slope of 1-4 %. Using the design theme , it is required to build the
alignment of road situated between 10+000 and 10+125 kilometers, at the end of the last built
alignment.

b) Topography : The topographical data is attached to the project.

c) Climate:

The type of climate in the region is continental – temperate. This is characterized by annual
mean temperatures of 7-9 Celsius degrees and an amount of precipitations of 650-850 mm. The
winds that act in this region are the Western Winds, that bring humid air . The snow varies
according to the altitude. At the lower altitudes the snow can reach 25-35 cm while at higher
altitudes it can reach 1-1.5 m.

The maximum depth of the frost is 90 cm, according to STAS 6054-77.

At the works that refer to the local road , we will consider that it is situated in a region
of climate of type I, according to the map showed in STAS 1709/1-90.
d) Geology, seismicity.

The geological aspect states that the region id formed of rock deposit having miocena-
pliocena age: clay, sands, conglomerate, gravel.

The seismic aspect shows that the area belongs to 6 macrozone according to STAS
11100/1-93. The code P100-1-04 gives the F seismic zone to this region , characterized by a
coefficient Ks=0.08 and a value Tc=0.7 seconds.

Also, a geotechnical study was attached to the project.

e) Presentation of project: the presentation is attached to the project

f) Deviation and utilities protection

During the above presented alignment there exists electricity, telephon etc. networks.

During the execution , the constructor is obligated to protect the existing networks from the
site.

The works do not need columns or pipe movement.

g) Utilities ( water, electricity,gas)

They are obtained from the local sources according to the agreement.

h) Permanent acces ways

To realize the investment the local road will be used, imposing a certain circulation
during the execution , by the contractor according to the plan.
i) Drawing the works

The performer will use (in order to draw the foundations, designed geometric elements
for the local road alignment and of the red designed line ) the clamps (borna) coordinates
positioned at the edge of the road and will use the list of coordinates for the characteristic
projected elements (curved coordinates) , presented in this documentation – plan of mapping-
coordinates of mapping.

j) Antemasuratoare

They can be found in the attachment to this memoir.

Technical memoirs - ROAD

Plan track

After drawing it resulted a curve as an arch type, designed at the speed of 40 km/h with
the radius of 60m . The curve elements:

- T=32.4 m; C= 59.7m; B=8.26 m

The longitudinal profile

At the design of the longitudinal profile it was used the STAS 863-85 viewing the terrain
configuration.

The declivities are between 6-28 % , interface connector (racordare) with vertical radius
of R = 1000 m.

The transverse profile

In the transverse profile the width of the carriage way 3.5 m for each way, the entire
length of the platform is 7 m, and each acostament has 0.5m.

In the part where we do digging works , a ditch will be crated in order to collect the
water from rain and that flows from the hills nearby.
The transverse slope from the alignment is 2.5% for the carriage way and 4% at the
acostamente, according to the transverse profile drawn.

The acostamente will be managed as follows: on the right part of the road , beyond the
acostament ditches will be made, and on the other part of the road we will use crushed stone
and gravel in order to consolidate the acostament.

The Road System

The road system was designed according to “ The standard for designing slender and
semirigid road systems ind. PD 177-2001” and it was checked at the frost phenomenon
according to STAS 1709/1-90 and 1709/2-90.

Ensuring the water drainage

By implementing the carriage way slope (of 2.5%) and the slope from the acostamente
( of 4 %) the water from rain will be evacuated from the carriage way. The drainage of water
from hills will be made, as mentioned, by using ditches .

Traffic safety

To ensure the traffic safety flexible parapets will be installed on the entire alignment,
from 5 to 5 meters.

Ecological works

After finishing the execution phase , the site will be scrapped. The constructor will be
obliged to hand in the area clean to the beneficiary. The accidentally contaminated surfaces
during the execution will be excavated and the soil will be deposited in holes, so that they can
be naturaly decontamined.

After finishing these works , the constructor has to rehabilitate the environment by
planting vegetation and ecologizing the affected area.
Signalling the road

After ending the investment, the longitudinal and lateral axial marker will be done and
will be installed table indicators with the permission of Inspectoratului Politiei Rutiere,
according to STAS 1848/1/2/3/7:2004.

The horizontal signaling will be done as follows:

- The longitudinal marker that will separate the 2 directions;

- The lateral marker to define the carriage way.

3. Duty books

The duty books show the level of performance of the works, the needs and the technical
conditions ; also they show the quality of the products that will be incorporated in the work,
the tests, the tolerance levels, that will guaranty fulfilling of the quality and performance
exigencies.

4. The general graphic of the public investment

The estimated period of execution : 12 months.

Main phases:

1. Performing the ditches

2. Performing the carriage way works.

3. Road signaling and markers

4. Protecting and rehabilitating the environment.
