Have you got what it takes to attend a technical-vocational school?

Let us discuss how exhausting

yet fulfilling going to a tech-voc school can be.

Going to school is never an easy routine. We go to school, we get required to submit certain
requirements, we socialize, and stuff.

They say that the 24 hours in a single day are supposed to be spent this way: eight hours for sleep,
eight hours for leisure/socializing with others, and the remaining eight hours are dedicated for an
individual’s career or education. Because of studying, we tend to compromise one or both of those
three components.

As a student, I am a proof that it really is not easy to do things simultaneously. Being in a regular
school is already difficult.

How much harder can it get if you are attending in a technical-vocational school? Let us decipher
things together.

Here at Br. Andrew Gonzalez Technical High School, every student has 10 subjects: English,
Mathematics, Science, Filipino, MAPEH, ESP, AP, Technical Drawing, ICF, and our specialization in TVE.
By merely listing down the subjects, it already gets overwhelming. We deal with these subjects everyday.
Being in a tech-voc school means having more subjects, therefore more time allotted for school.

However, sometimes, things only get worse because students lack time management. They tend to
rant everytime which, obviously, is a waste of time. They seem to lose sight of the bigger picture. Little
did they know that if they will take things seriously in a tech-voc school, they will benefit a lot.

Long before K-12 curriculum was implemented, tech-voc is already a thing in our institution.
Graduates from a tech-voc school, like BAGTHS, get a National Certificate, same certificate they will be
achieving under the K-12 curriculum. This certificate qualifies them to be employed in certain fields.
Moreover, the subjects they are taking up are already their leverage among other students who are
from regular schools.

There are many reasons why it is really a student’s edge to be enrolled in a tech-voc school. I just
hope that every student in our school will realize how privileged they are to be here. I hope every
student will prioritize schooling more than anything.
