King Solomon, the wisest person lived in his time once said “Train up a child in the
way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6). This is one
of the verses found in the Scripture that was proven not just once but many times from
generation to generation.

Part of the video which titled “Aggression, Anger and the Origins of Violence in
Children” showed and said that aggression of a person started as early as eighteen
months of their childhood. This kind of behavior may influenced by people who
surrounded them in their early childhood. Children who experienced poor parenting will
misbehaved and showed aggression, anger and the worst scenario, displayed violence
on their behavior.

There are contributing factors that may affect children’s behavior which is not
acceptable to adult especially parents. But sometimes, unintentionally, parents who do
not accept this kind of behavior on their children are sometimes the main factor that
contribute why their children misbehaved. Parents may easily isolate their children from
other people which they thought is the solution to their problem but this kind of alternative
may make the situation worst.

Another factor that affects the behavior of a person is the way how he was treated
or discipline by their parents when he/she was at young age. I strongly believe that
discipline/training must be imposed as early as the child was born.

This video helped me a lot to understand children which I happened to handle in

the past. It is my regret that I don’t know this yet when I encountered children with this
problem of aggression and anger. I thought that they misbehaved because it is their
natural behavior or character. I never realized that they are just victims of situation or
careless people that surrounds them.

I hope and pray that when I take the full responsibility of a teacher, I will be armed
with a big and understanding heart to help children improve their character. It is indeed
my desire to be a model and inspiration to learners that will be entrusted to me someday.
