“Deadly chatters” by Susan Horsburgh and Johnny Dodd talks about how a

teen was using drugs to get high and also misusing prescription pills. While in a chat

room. Brandon Vedas was in his bedroom alone in chat group video chat with

others. He overdosed using prescription pills one after another and smoking pot

while his Internet friends watched as it happened. No one called for help or call his

mother or the police to help him. When his mother found him, filled charges were

tried but the PD said “he could’ve stopped taking pills anytime” Veda’s mother

hopes this is a wake up call to people to encourage each other to help instead of

watching things happen.
