JEPIRA, CABO DE LA VELA.

On my last vacation in 2017, I went to Jepira in La Guajira. In this place living the
community Wayuu. I am Wayuu and I can speak my ancestral language, since it is
very important for us to preserve the ancestrality. This place is magical and
wonderful. I always go to Jepira because it is close to Riohacha, La Guajira and I
am from here, and I love this place.
On December 21, 2017, I went swimming near Pilon de Azucar. In this place, the
sea is too dangerous because of the strong waves. My friend proposed me to get in
because the tide was very calm, and for this reason we did it. But after about 10
minutes, the sea began to be very strong and we were very far from the shore.
Then, he told me that he will swim very fast and without stopping. I was so afraid
that I felt cramps in my right leg and that did not allow me to swim faster. I was so
scared that I was feeling that it took me further and that I had to stop, but this was a
bad decision. Not even two minutes passed when my friend Sebastian told me to be
careful!
I saw a great wave that shook me for so long that it left me unconscious. I reacted
scared and spitting a lot of water. When my friend Sebastian hugged me, I told him
I almost won by swimming. And finally, frightened, we embraced, we smiled and we
returned to the calmer sea. In spite of what happened, I'm still swimming in the sea
but with more care.
