She used a high level of English and her pronunciation was excellent. Her pacing during the review was fast enough to keep the students interested and they were highly attentive to her throughout the class. ‘MCT OBSERVATION REPORT - B.Ed. (EPR) Year 3 Teaching Practice 4b - Internship Category B - Planning for Learning: Overall, the planning was clear and concise with a well “sequenced series of phases. The transition for each phase went ‘smoothly, Maryam achieved her objectives and students responded well to each activity. “This lesson fit in well with the previous lesson and the overall, unit plan. “The slides, constructed food chain made of paper, paper cups land other resources were easily accessible and interesting for ‘the class. ‘Maryam seemed to anticipate the progression of each task easily ‘and guided the students clearly. (EPR) Year 3 Teaching Practice 4b - Internship [Category C- Implementing and Managing Learning: | Maryam began with a full, well paced review of the previous lesson on differen: types of creatures in the food chain - producers, consumers and decomposers. She did a strong job of moving through this review and most | students were eager to answer her questions. “Good that some [svestone rete te adres nm experince T: “Let's imagine..if we have the sun, the grass will get the ‘energy from the sun..then the cow will eat the grass and stay alive, Who will eat the cow?” [Definition provided of food chain - A serles of Iving things linked [to each other... "Good slide shown at this point showing the flow of the food ‘chain. The students were inherently interested in this topic and the related animals. “Why is the sun an important thing?” Individual students on track with comprehending main concepts. **Good that some students initiated new questions at this point without being asked. ‘Maryam provided multiple examples of the food chain cycle with ‘clear and creative slides. **One slide had students determine ‘order of organisms in chain chorally. This checked their understanding. r “Now each group will create two food chains.” Maryam demonstrated the task using paper cups. Students placed the ‘cups inside each ather to indicate the cycle - this worked well as ‘a method of ordering.
