A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a injury that affects how the brain functions. Ultimately a
lifetime of concussions a form of TBI will lead to CTE, or Chronic Traumatic
Encephalopathy. This illness is a major concern for those in the play in sports with levels
of great physical contact. The helmets of today are not suited to protect players from
these impacts but they could offer some protection for the players of tomorrow.
