The destruction of documents for FY19 is estimated to cost $ 17,507.49 and is required to be performed by 9/30/2019. ‘The request for the destruction of documents is to provide a secure facility for the destruction of documents up to the secret level which have been approved for disposal. Asole source, Firm Fixed Price contract will be awarded to Covanta Environmental Solutions, LLC to provide for the destruction of classified and sensitive information. The intended sole source is Covanta Environmental Solutions, LLC. Covanta Environmental Solutions, LLC has two facilities located at 9898 Lorton Road, Lorton VA 22079 and 5301 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria VA 22304 3. Specific characteristics of the destruction of classified and sensitive information limit the availability to a sole source do to the approval of the facility by the Physical Security Unit. Covanta is also the only vendor in a close proximity of the National Capital Region. Only this suggested source can furnish the requirements, to the exclusion of other sources, because itis the only facility cleared by the Physical Security Unit for approved destruction of classified and sensitive information for the Information Management Division (IMD). For this reason, and its close proxtmity of the National Capital Region, only Covanta Environmental Solutions, LLC was contacted for market research.Not applicable 8 A statement of the actions, if any, the agency will take to remove or overcome any barriers that led to restricted consideration before any subsequent acquisition for supplies and services is made, ‘The Government will continue to research the market to obtain as many available sources as required in accordance with the FAR to ensure that there are other vendors out there that can satisfy this requirement. In addition, the customer will do due diligence in ensuiting that barriers to competition are avoided to ensure we obtain the best value for the government.
