1.0 INTRODUCTION

This course aims to prepare students with basic management knowledge, safety and
engineering economy. Students should be able to describe and perform engineering economic
analysis to solve problems and evaluate engineering investment/projects.

1.1 CASE STUDY COMPANY

7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Berhad is selected company from the list of Bursa Saham
Malaysia for this project. Three (3) years annual report of the 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings
Berhad from years 2015 to 2017 is collected to be analysised.

1.2 PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The project objectives are as follows:

i. Provide description of their operations of relevant factors that may unveil the
strength and weakness of the company.
ii. Conduct financial analysis to assess these 4 criteria:
• Capability to support liabilities (current & quick)
• Ability to generate income (inventory, asset, debtor turnover)
• Financial strength (debt, total debt to equity ratio)
• Ability to generate profit (gross , net, rate of return).
iii. Discuss the performance of the company from the perspective of investor,
creditors and managers.
