Plant Medicine, Medicine of the land

These lands vibrate with medicine—a wisdom

and a strength that is available to all. Medicinal
plants are here in abundance awaiting our
return. As physical manifestations of the spirit
forces of the land, they have the potential
of being our most profound teachers. It only
takes a small shift of consciousness, a slight
turn of the dial, to reopen the channels. When
we open ourselves to receive these teachings,
we not only heal ourselves, but we make these
healing forces more available to the earth,
our families, our community, our society, and
all of humanity. We all have encoded in our
DNA the ability to be a part of and receive
information from the life force that surrounds
us. We need only remember ourselves for
what we are—integral components of the
Earth’s consciousness, and we need only
listen to and put into practice the teachings
offered by these divine beings of the plant
kingdom.

SONG OF THE PUEBLO MOUNTAINS
(Sommer, 2009)

We come to the desert seeking and curing

We come to the desert to honor our Guides

We come to the desert to purify the spirit

To open in Silence to receive communication

Communication of the spirits

Of the Plant Beings who dwell here

To honor, to open, to listen, to hear

To learn with humility the wisdom of the Earth

Earth wind and fire

Water to cleanse
The roots, leaves, and flowers
Their medicines to bless

➣➣➣

26
Giving us knowledge
So we can heal
Deeper connection
Feeling what is real

Ephedra, Ephedra
Juniper and Sagebrush

We receive your teachings

We receive the Spirits

The memory of the Ancestors
We remember the calling of the Mystery of
Stars

We give praise, and these good offerings

To weave together Holy Relations of Life

  

27
Mother come, illuminate (dogwood)*

Wacha heya hey

Wacha hey hey ya

I sing your praises to all forest life (4x)

Wacha heya hey...

In the forest I receive your light

Wacha heya hey...

Mother come, Illuminate

Wacha heya hey...

Shine, shine, shine, shine through me

Wacha heya hey...

Clear the path for me to see

➣➣➣

28
Wacha heya hey...

Mother come, Illuminate

  

*This song opens the third eye. As you sing “Wacha heya hey...” feel the
upward movement of the melody’s sound clearing the channel of vision
from your heart through the back of your neck and up and out of your third
eye. Once it is clear, you are free to explore. You can reach out into the
visionary ethers or allow them to enter into you. Imagining a Dogwood
flower blossoming from your third eye may help.

song of the wind

My Master is the Lord of the Wind

He teaches his secrets to me
He fills me with his divine breath
Awareness and clarity
My Master come to cleanse my thoughts
Remove these obscurities

My Mother sings a song through the flower

of the wind
To guide and protect me
A beautiful white bird from the mountains of
the west
A breeze of tranquility
My Mother I ask you to clear my mind
Relieve this anxiety

➣➣➣

32
My Father makes his home on the mountain
so high
He brings its forces to me
Aligns me with the earth and the sky
My heart, my destiny
My Father I offer this pain, this grief
These things I no longer need

My brothers, my sisters, my daughters, my

sons
The time to gather is here
Strengthen your hearts and firm your minds
Let go of pain and fear
Present yourself to the forces of life
Consider what they provide
Offer yourself, sing this song of the wind
Remember who gives you life
