But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief
That thou, her maid, art far more fair than she. . . .
The brightness of her cheek would shame those stars
As daylight doth a lamp; her eye in heaven
Would through the airy region stream so bright
That birds would sing and think it were not night. (II.ii.44-64)
5) Paragraph Response: Significance of Juliet’s lines (10 marks)
O Romeo, Romeo,
wherefore art thou Romeo?
Deny thy father and refuse thy name,
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,
And I’ll no longer be a Capulet. (II.ii.74-78)
6) Paragraph Response: Significance of lines (10 marks)
Chorus:From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life,
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Doth with their death bury their parents’ strife. . . . (Prologue 5-8)
7) Paragraph Response: Identify 1 motif of the play (10 marks)
8) Timeline of Events (10 marks)
