O ur first speaker in PUBLICATION LAYOUTING is

a sought-after lecturer in all Journalism categories


(both English and Filipino), having served as professio-
nal newspaper evaluator and trained individual and group
winners in at least five regions in the Philippines.
He is the editor and photojournalist of The Adviser, the
official publication of National Secondary School Pub-
lication Advisers’ Assn. (NSSPAA); managing editor of
ASAFP Balita, a community newspaper of Cainta, Rizal;
and editor of the maiden issue of PAEA Newsletter, the
official newsletter of Philippine Art Educators Assn..
He was a correspondent, columnist, feature writer and photojournalist of the defunct The
Philippine Tribune and feature-literary writer of Universal Times, an international news maga-
zine.
He is an active member of SLR Camera Club and Photojournalists’ Center of the
Philippines(PCP). He is an award-winning layout artist, writer, visual artist, and photogra-
pher. He has won numerous awards in layouting, writing, painting, and photography com-
petitions, including the 1st Place finish in the 2009 Gender-Sensitive Essay Writing Contest
sponsored by the Film Development Board, 1st Place in the 2011 On-the-Spot Newspaper
Layouting Contest organized by SPAM, and Grand Prize Awards in the 2011 Canon Travel
Photo Competition organized by Canon Philippines.
As an educator, he is one of the recepients of the 10 Most Outstanding Teachers of Quezon
City for two consecutive school years(2004-2005 and 2005-2006) organized by F.M. Bautista
Foundation and QC Public School Teachers Assn..
He has an M.A. Malikhaing Pagsulat(CAR) and Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations
from the University of the Philippines-Diliman and has some of his works published in Ani,
the Philippine Literary Annual published by the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
He is the author of What I See--A Student-friendly Guide in Photographyand Photojournal-
ism, Editorial Writing 101, Gabay sa Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Balita, Cartooning 101 and
Campus Journalism in a Global Perspective.
He is the former president of NCR Secondary School Paper Advisers Assn., Inc. and current
president of the NSSPAA.
He is the 2014 Most Outstanding School Publication Adviser (MOSPA) of National Capital
Region and one of the MOSPAs of the Philippines in the 2015 National Schools Press Confer-
ence held in Taguig City.
