REFLECTION ASSESSMENT

ASSIGNMENT 2: DEVELOPEMNT AND ANALSIS ITEM

I would like to thank for my group that has been given to launch this project. We have
communicated well and made an opinion to meet the rubric of this project rubric. If one of the
members is having problems completing the assignment given, other colleagues will provide
guidance and support in helping them to understand more in detail. In addition, a very positive
collaboration makes this task unsuitable for conflict and misunderstanding throughout the course
of completing this project.
All topic that I’ve learn in this course is very useful and meaningful for me, from topic one
until topic 11 all topic related to each other and form there I can understand what is Assessment in
Learning about. This course is very good to learn, as for me now I know from the definition and
history, the types of item, how to create them and lastly how to analysis the item. Each time I need
to find any solution or find definition, always look back to all noted provided from lecturer and
friends because there have a good explanation and good example to follow.
My group and I have good chemistry together and we handle all the obstacle well and
divide the task so that we all can contribute well in this project. More over my teams help me to
understand more the concept of SPSS and fix any error occurs. I hope one day, if we’re together
as team, I want to more active, give opinion and help if needed.
This project is concerned about the development and analyze student answers questions
through the analysis of multiple items. My group has been discussing the types of questions that
are appropriate for development. As a result of the discussions, my group selected Malay language
subjects for year 6 students. Assessment was made on the 6th year student by preparing the exam
item items for the test. This test involved 30 respondents who had been tested for this test for one
hour and 15 minutes only and included several topics, namely the use of a language system in
Malay language lessons.
What I think about this project is it is useful for me as teacher to be one day so I can provide
a good test question for my student that can increase their thinking skill and enhance more their
knowledge. Also I can know what suitable item that can be use and how to create them. In addition
for myself also get a knowledge how to create a good question without discrimination and learn to
use SPSS software.
The most difficult moment to build this project is when my friends and I need to choose
good item, distribute, marking process and insert all data collection, fix the error and have a little
problem in terms of key in data by using SPSS which takes some time, but I can control the
problem by focusing more on the set. I also need to prepare with more time, get some time just to
focus on this and able to create a good item and have good results.
Like people said we learn from zero to gain something, so it same to myself. From zero
knowledge about assessment, now I speak and tell what is about and the benefit to teachers and
know what types of item to use for my future students. As a whole, each member of the group has
provided good cooperation to complete this assignment. Each issue will be discussed together and
find a consensus to resolve the problem arising. This assignment is one of the effective ways for
potential teachers to be exposed by constructing questions, analyzing the difficulty level of the
questions and identifying problems arising on the questionnaire. This assignment has slightly
opened the teacher's eyes to build quality questions and according to the standard set by Bloom's
Taxonomy and guided by the Item Specification Table (JSI) made.
Additionally, this assignment requires me to learn how to create a Specification Table
(TOS) and its capabilities. Based on analytical items, I can learn something new about the
difficulty, discrimination and validity of the questions being developed. The findings of the
analysis were obtained from the use of SPSS software. For analysis of difficulty, the mean of each
question is seen in detail in order to be able to identify the questions that students can’t answer
easily and easy questions for students to answer. Based on the analysis items, I suggest that
teachers develop TOS first so they can analyze things correctly and also know the level of their
students' understanding of any particular subject
Lastly, I would like to thank you to Dr. Nur Liyana for pure sincere help and guidance has
been given in helping me and my teammates to complete a given project in a timely manner.
Through the learning given, I have learned a lot of knowledge to ensure that my group project is
successfully implemented. Initially, I felt this task was very difficult to implement because the
time has come to pass and considers having to prepare a question with a rating test status. This
will be complicated as I have not been able to prepare such high-status questions. The learned
analysis also included new knowledge inputs for myself, though I have actually learned various
statistical subjects before. However, the result of the discussion in the group has a positive impact
on the science of statistical analysis in the assessment and item analysis project. Hence, friends in
my group are very helpful in giving me strength and support so I do not give up and be more
enthusiastic about completing the assignment. In addition, they have also provided full cooperation
throughout the course of the assignment and each has also sacrificed time and knowledge to
complete this project.
