CATEGORIES OF AIRCRAFT

1. Myanmar Aircraft Rules requires that for an aircraft to fly, must be a valid Certificate of
Airworthiness issued for that aircraft. Airworthiness Certification is a process to ensure that
the aircraft conforms to the Type Certificate and that the aircraft is in condition for safe
operation. In respect of engineering and technical requirements, Airworthiness Certification
is also a process for DCA’s authorization to operate an aircraft. C of A will be issued upon
successful completion of the process.

2. The purpose of this Notice is to clarify the various categories of C of A and to introduce the
various categories in relation to the Airworthiness Certification.

3. The categories for C of A to be used are as follows;


3.1. Transport Category (Passenger)
3.2. Transport Category (Cargo)
3.3. Aerial Work Category
3.4. Private Category
3.5. Special Category

4. The purpose for which the aircraft may fly are as follows_
4.1 Transport Category (Passenger). Any purpose.
4.2 Transport Category (Cargo). Any purpose other than public transport of passengers.
4.3 Aerial work. Any purpose other than public transport;
4.4 Private Category. any purpose, other than public transport or aerial work.
4.5 Special Category. Any purpose, other than public transport specified in the Certificate
of Airworthiness but not including the carriage of passengers unless expressly
permitted.
