Top tips for Better Fishing Results
Tip No. 1
This means that you must have enough ground bait set out in the swim you are fishing. To start off
with you must make sure that the ground bait which you are using is soft enough to break up quickly.
The faster the ground bait breaks up the bigger the feeding spot will become and more fish will be
attracted to the spot.
Tip No. 2
Tight Lines
This fishing approach might sound a bit hectic but trust me it works, pull your lines as tight as
possible before attaching your bite indicator to your mainline. As soon as a little fish picks up the bait
the bite indicator will drop, but if a big fish picked up the bait the reel dragging will sound like music
to your ears. The old loop method is really frustrating if the fish plays with bait like a yo - yo !!! With
this method the fish will get hooked much easier and quicker.
Tip No. 3
Smaller baits yes smaller baits you didn't misread, the smaller the bait on your hooks the more
effective it will work. The reason for this is because a fish feeds like a vacuum cleaner by sucking in
and blowing out, any particles floating up by this action the fish will take in, so the smaller the bait
the lighter the bait. So there you have it nice and easy.

Tip No. 4
How many times do you see offshore anglers casting more than 100m and further, well the trick is to
come down on your line thickness the thinner the line the easier the line will come off your reel and
the less friction occur when casting. Well to cast accurate means practice, practice and more
practice. Also ensure that you are properly balanced when casting, before casting out your first rod
find a nice flat spot where you can stand and go and stand on this spot every time when casting.
Tip No.5
Before you go and fish a new venue gather as much information as possible, it always wise to read
up about a venue and asking your angling buddies.
Tip No. 6
One must always be able to think on your feet when fishing, as conditions keeps on changing as the
day progresses.
Tip No. 7
One’s fishing successes are also as great as one’s fishing network! By networking with more fellow
anglers gives you a greater opportunity to venue knowledge, bait combinations and inside info which
is not normally shared with all.
Tip No. 8
Ground Bait
Your ground bait is as I would say 60% of your success rate, as the fish normally feed on your
ground bait. Thus prepare it well as it will save you a lot of agony and frustration.

Tip No. 9
A caller is a strong flavoured dip (Garlic, Bloekom or TCP) and a taker is a sweet flavoured dip (fruity
type). It is always wise to fish these two in a combination. And from time to time it is wise to mask
the caller with the taker.

Tip No. 10
Consistency
Always strive to prepare / make all baits, dips, ground bait and traces the same as consistency is a
great success factor when it comes to fishing.
Tip No. 11
If the wind is blowing directly in your face it will be wise to use a heavier weight with a smaller feed
ball to get maximum distance with the least effort. When the wind is from left to right, take a couple
of steps to your right then cast out your bait the wind will drift it back onto your feeding spot. And vice
versa if the wind is from the opposite side the same principle is applied.
Tip No. 12
When fishing for muddies and grass carp it will be wish to use a heavier weight not lighter than a 1.5
weight and also smaller and sharper hooks.
Tip No. 13
When the smaller fish is really taking the bait before the bigger fish put your bait inside your feed
ball. The bigger fish will dig out the baits.
Tip No. 14
Keep a container with cake flour in your box ready for use when your dough gets to soft or when it is
raining and your hands are wet to make it easier to apply your dough.
Tip No. 15
Leader Wise
After a day fished in an area with a lot of obstacles ensure before going out on your next fishing to
replace your leader as a worn leader can be costly.

Tip No. 16
If you are fishing at distance of 90m add an extra 5m to10m on your line clip distance to ensure that
you still reach your feeding line. The line clip also helps to get the slack out of your line to get it more
smoothed out to read the bites much easier.
Tip No. 17
Trace Wise
A good thing to have is a trace jig to ensure that all traces are the same lengths as well as your hook
links.
Tip No. 18
It is always wise to wash your hands with a mixture of sunlight liquid and the mud of the swim which
will be fished, before you start with your preparation.
Tip No. 19
It is always wise to start with as little as possible of concentrates on your bomb as the day
progresses more can be added. Too much in the beginning will spook the fish from your swim.
Tip No. 20
Faith
Always have faith in what you do and your successes will sky rocket, and the thing which gives One
Great faith is practice makes perfect and always believ in yourself.
