9. Run setup.exe and install the Altair software in ‘Full Developer mode’ type only.
License Generation:

Generation of Locking Code on machine:

1. Open the "License Manager" software. (Windows Start à License Manager)

2. Click on the "Commuter License" -> "Remote Commuter License"

3. Save the locking code in .rlf format.

4. Following License needs to be installed to carry out MRO Tests:

Once locking code file (.rlf) is generated, pls email file to wsp.support@jdsu.com, mentioning
the above licenses and duration of license to be generated.
5. JDSU support would send back .rcl license file to you for x days license period for mentioned
licenses.
6. Once .rcl license file is received, follow the procedure to enable license.
7. Open ‘License Manager’ Commuter License Remote Commuter License’ (From Windows
Start à License Manager)
2. Click on ‘Install Remote License’ and load key from the .rcl file, by selecting ‘Get remote
authorization code from file’.
3. Pls send your License Manager Screenshot after Successful Import of License
B. Now as License is generated for JDSU RANAdvisor tool, we need to carry out initial setup for
AsiaTelco ODCPE PE-160 device, before we connect the device in JDSU tool.

Initial CPE Setup:

 Login to CPE via IE Browser. Use http://198.168.10.1

 Then open a new tab & use this link http://198.168.10.1/tool.html

It should have ALT3100_04_05_06_10_88_TF version mentioned in LTE FW

.

 Open connection Manager in “Altair Semiconductor  LTE ALT 3100  Connection

Manager

 Normally CPE is in Developer mode , we need to change it to ‘Technician PC Mode’, by right click
on Status Bar of the Connection Manage, there is option to change to Technician PC mode,
after that it will look like this: (Use IP address of 192.168.10.1 to connect in Technician mode)
 The CPE should be connected and show RSRP Strength as show above. You can also see
extended LTE Network information by right click on Status Bar:
 After verifying that CPE is connected properly, close the ‘Connection Manager’.
 Go to Start—> Altair Semiconductor  LTE ALT3100  Internet Tools  Run LTE Manager. LTE
manager runs in background.
I. You can verify that CPE is in unlocked mode by carrying out additional step below:
o Go to StartAltair Semiconductor  LTE ALT 3100  Debug View and see if you aren’t
getting following message in the window.

o If you are getting above messages, in Debug View window, pls refer to page 7 and
double check if the Altair CPE FW is ALT3100_04_05_06_10_88_TF, before you connect
CPE to JDSU RANAdvisor Tool.
C. There are few instances where it’s observed that, if you reboot the PC/Machine to which CPE
is connected, either you don’t see an RF Parameters on JDSU tool or Debug view is blank, as
shown below:
To solve no parameters reporting problem in JDSU tool or Blank ‘Debug view’, we recommend
following steps. If you have rebooted the PC during testing, check these additional steps:

 The PE160 device has DHCP server in-side, which allocates IP address to PC/Laptop. The IP
Address allocation can be from 192.168.10.10 to 192.168.10.100, which has been default range
of CPE DHCP allocations.
 Now, when PC is rebooted, this DHCP server allocates IP address from pool of listed IP address
(.10-.100).
1. Login to CPE Admin panel.
2. Go to ‘Command Prompt’ and check IP Address allocated to PC (ipconfig –all)
3. Now in CPE Admin panel check, http://192.168.10.1/relaylog.html is showing same IP
address (as per step 2), if yes jump to step ‘4’. If not then,
 Disable and then Enable Relay Log.
 Set IP Address of PC (same as shown in Step 2 of ipconfig -all). Apply settings.
 Soft reboot CPE (from Admin panel only)
4. One it’s confirmed that Relay Log settings and PC IP Address is same, move to following
standard steps:
 Open Altair Connection Manager and observe the device is latched to LTE
network and showing RSRP level.
 Close Connection Manager (Quit from Toolbar)
 Run ‘LTE Manager’ (from Start  Altair Semiconductor  ALT3100  Internet
Tools  Run LTE Manager)
5. Now Open JDSU RAN Advisor E6474A tool.
6. Import the standard project (if done ignore)
7. Probe the CPE (with standard settings)
8. Run the Sequencer in Live mode. It should show the RF readings now.

Please note, above steps have been verified to be working

steps, in the case of PC reboot. Please don’t skip any of the
steps above.
D. Now we have verified that CPE is connected, LTE manager is running in background and CPE
Debug view isn’t showing device lock up messages, it’s time to connect CPE to JDSU
RANAdvisor E6474A DT tool.

Connecting CPE to E6474A

II. Open JDSU RAN Advisor Beta Version.
III. Import the Project for ‘CPE’. (JDSU team would share the CPE project with DT team). You would
be in position to see Altair LTE device and Generic GPS (Un-probe) fashion.

IV. Configure the Trace port Setting for CPE as given below
V. Probe the CPE, after configuration on ‘Trace’ port is done. Check the icon symbol next to Altair
LTE device. It should get changed to ‘Connected’ mode after successful Probe.

VI. Probe the Generic GPS for given COM port.

VII. As now both Altair CPE and GPS are connected (Probed), you should see in RANAdvisor window
as,
E. Now both GPS and Altair LTE CPE are probed successfully, we now move ahead to configure
two measurements recommended by MRO test.
i) RSRP Measurement.
ii) FTP DL Throughput measurement.

Please note, both RSRP/FTP measurements are carried out in Stationary mode on grid
defined by TSTP guidelines. Please refer to details guidelines of by TSTP for RSRP and FTP DL
measurements.
