Virginia Tech (College / Career Project )

I found out and became interested in Virginia Tech when my family and I went to a

college fair. There were alot of different colleges but the one that stuck out the most was Virginia

Tech. i asked a lot of question and tried to find out if it was the best for me and it turned out that

they have a lot of programs and classes that are really interesting. I already knew i liked Virginia

Tech because of there basketball team, it was 2012 and there record was 10-8. They had a great

season and it was enough to get me hooked. But the true reason I want to go there is because

there education choices and classes, the class I want to be in is business so that I can create my

own business one today.

Virginia Polytechnic also known as Virginia Tech was founded in 1872 as a land grant

university. From heritage high school to Virginia Tech in blacksburg virginia it’s a 4hr drive

with 237.4 miles, so you will be paying out of state. The average cost for in-state is $20,172, and

the average for out-of-state is $41,499. The acceptance rate for Virginia Tech is 73.4% which is

surprisingly high for one of the top colleges . The requirements to get into Virginia Tech is that

you have to have a GPA over 3.64 and, you also need to have taken 4 English classes, 3 math

classes, 2 science classes, 1 foreign language, 1 social studies, 1 history class and 4 elective

classes all in high school. Virginia Tech is located in Blacksburg Virginia, Virginia Tech has a

huge 2,600 acres, and the surroundings are a city like rural area. Virginia tech has a lot of good

classes offered from agricultural and applied economics to women’s and gender studies. There

are a lot of good classes that VT offers and the one for me is business.

This Collage (Virginia Tech) will benefit me because they have a business class that will

help me pursue my dream of making my own clothing company. I also want to become a teacher

like Mr. taylor and i want to enlighten kids and make them smarter.
