This class is meant to be a complement to ME6353 – Computational Fluid Dynamics I,

but the classes can be taken in either order with permission of the instructor. This
class will stress solution methods for the Navier-Stokes equations, and turbulent
flows in complex geometries, and accuracy.

Course Prerequisites ME 3363 Introduction to Fluid Mechanics or equivalent; MATH

3321 Engineering Mathematics or equivalent or instructor permission.

Text: Computational Methods for Fluid Dynamics by Ferziger & Peric: ISBN 3-540-

The basic text will be supplemented by additional material from internet sites and
class lecture notes posted to Blackboard.
Homework problems will be assigned; there will be a midterm & final exam
~ 10 Short quizzes (~ 10 minutes each)
There will be a major term project requiring simulation of a fluid flow problem.
