school from being sold
off and encouraged a
plan to be created for it
to be used as a facility
for the community as
we look at increasing
the population at
Collingullie; hopefully
leading to the school
re-opening in the
future, but it can
only happen with
the support from the
residents.
It was the importance
of schools that was
instrumental in my
advocacy to build
more footpaths in
existing suburbs like
Forest Hill to enable
children to walk safely
to and from school, and
more work is needed
and I will continue to
advocate for further
improvements.
While everyone is
currently having a break
from school and with
the calendar ticking
over leading many to
making changes and
promises for the year
ahead, I encourage
each of us to think
about how we can all
further support our
local schools, the staff
and the students.
Which reminds me,
I had better book in
my canteen duty day
soon at my daughter’s
school.
