Olympic Highway
intersection upgrades
Community Update September 2021
September 2021
We’ve confirmed traffic lights are best for both intersections
When we first announced the preferred options last year, we heard your concerns. As a result of your
comments and feedback we carried out a review of the original choices. These additional investigations
confirmed traffic lights as the best short-term option.
Traffic lights will provide the best immediate improvements to road safety and will manage traffic flows to
improve efficiency. The upgrades will also enable both intersections to be modified to suit the expansion
of the Olympic Highway in the future as the need arises.
We are keen to hear your feedback about the environmental report and concept design so we can deliver
a balance of engineering, traffic, safety, environmental and community outcomes.
