Personal Profile
I am a first year Software Engineering student at Sheffield Hallam University seeking a
placement within software development. I have strong communication, teamwork and
leadership skills demonstrated through previous teamwork tasks within university and
school; alongside previous work experience and through volunteering as a Tae Kwon Do
instructor.

I completed my A-Levels at Hardenhuish Academy Sixth Form coming out with 3 A-D grades
in Mathematics, Geography and Computing.

GCSE
In my GCSE’s I achieved 11 A-C grades including Mathematics, English and Science.

Work Experience

Place of Employment: JD Wetherspoons, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 3WL
Role: Bar and floor associate
I worked as a barman, so I served drinks and took food orders for customers, I also worked
as a waiter which involved me brining food to customers and clearing and cleaning tables
after use.

Role: Sales Advisor
Responsible for serving customers on tills including payments, returns and opening store
account cards. Helping customers at the dressing rooms and shoe section. General work
around the menswear department to keep it maintained (tidying up stands and fixtures/
making them look presentable)

Place of Employment: Siemens Rail Automation
Role: One-week work experience. Created a computer program that simulates the way
railway signalling works. This was performed using a raspberry pi computer, LEDs, sensors
and miniature railway pieces.

Role: One-week work experience. Organised meeting rooms, checking computers for
software errors and learnt about the braking systems they develop.

Skills
Team working:
Worked effectively as part of a team within my two previous part time jobs like helping
fellow employees with their work if they were stuck or unsure about somethings. I also
worked effectively within a team to achieve my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award back in
school.

Teaching:
I developed teaching skills by volunteering within my Tae Kwon Do class teaching lower
grade students their syllabus.

Creativity:
I have used creativity a lot in my life especially within coding as I have developed many web
pages and other programs for fun and to improve at coding.

Interests
I am an avid sportsman having participated in a lot of team sports like football, rugby and
cricket. I also did Tae Kwon Do for 15 years and achieved a 2nd degree black belt and umpire
qualifications.

I also enjoy music, I play a variety of instruments like guitar, bass, drums and piano with my
main instrument being guitar which I have been playing for 12 years.

I am also interested in video games, I have played video games for 10+ years now and have
used gaming to make new friends and improve skills like communication and reaction times.
