Giving our Lives as an Offering

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you:

Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eat-
ing, going-to-work, and walking-around life– and place
it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does
for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t
become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into
it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on
god. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily
recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond
Vineyard Community Church to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging
you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best

 Our Speakers
Jennifer and I have been married for
31 years. We have a shared ministry
and a great marriage. She is my
greatest ally, and I cannot imagine
life in the ministry without her.
We have hosted small groups in our
home, taken University of Illinois stu-
dents on lots of missions trips, hosted
hundreds of international students in
our home, presented marriage semi-
nars in churches in the Midwest, spoken
together at college retreats, provided
pastoral care for pastors and their
spouses and taught leadership princi-
ples to 150 African pastors and their
spouses in Zambia.

Why Come?
Sherri and I are asking you to set some
time aside this beautiful fall season to
gather together with us for a weekend
of growth and mission.
Cost
The cost of the weekend is $20 per
person, and this will help us provide an
honorarium and cover travel expenses
for our speakers.
Youth
We would like to make sure to invite all
our middle school and high school youth
who serve to join us too. The cost for
youth is $10.
Extra Stuff
We are not providing childcare for the
weekend, so let us know if you need
help securing someone to watch your
kids. As always, financial scholarships
are available to those in need. We
want you here!
The Schedule
Friday Night, Nov.12, 7- 9 pm
Our Lives as an Offering: Personally
Don & Jennifer Follis will encourage
and teach about how to take care of
and lead yourself, how to gain a per-
sonal vision so you can live with mean-
ing and purpose. We’ll close with
ministry time.
Saturday, Nov. 13, 9 am - 3 pm
Our Lives as an Offering: Together
8:30 - 9 am: Continental breakfast
will be served.
Don and Jennifer will share again and
then we will break out into Growth
Groups, and cover topics such as: How
to lead change, and How to work
better together.
Lunch is provided. Then in the after-
noon, we will come together and tie
up what we see God doing, sending
ourselves out to do the stuff!
