SCENE STARTS WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER WALKING DOWN AN ALLEY

TALKING TO SOMEONE ON THE PHONE, AFTER A SHORT WHILE ANOTHER
MAN WITH A BLACK HOODIE IS SEEN COMING IN FRAME FOLLOWING THE
MAIN CHARACTER.

Joe
Yeah – uh-huh, but the thing is if she doesn’t focus on this
project the whole thing is going to shit. No she hasn’t
provided any help or support for the team which is why we’re
considering kicking her out, she’s a useless individual
anyway; plus, no one really cares about her so it won’t affect
the team’s motivation. Yeah I know she’s depressed, I wouldn’t
give a rat’s ass if Andrea herself and leave her hobo looking
boyfriend alone.

THE HOODED MAN COMES UP BEHIND JOE AND COVERS JOE’S MOUTH AND
NOSE WITH A HANDKERCHIEF RESULTING TO JOE PASSING OUT. THE
HOODED MAN STARTS DRAGGING JOE’S BODY AND THE SCREEN TURNS
BLACK.
THE SCREEN FADES FROM BLACK TO A BLURRY DISTORTED SCENE AS IF
IT’S THE MAIN CHARACTER’S PERSPECTIVE, A PERSON CAN BE SEEN
SITTING ON A TABLE, SOUNDS OF BEEPING AND MUFFLED VOICES CAN
BE HEARD. THE SCREEN THEN FADES TO BLACK.
THE SCREEN CUTS FROM A BLACK SCREEN TO A SHOT OF A TV IN A
DARK, BLACK ROOM. 3 BODIES CAN BE SEEN LYING ON THE FLOOR IN
FRONT OF THE TV, A CLOSE UP SHOT OF JOE’S EYES IS SHOWN AND
JOE WAKES UP INSTANTLY WHILE BREATHING HEAVILY.
JOE
Where the f—

JOE LOOKS AROUND AND SEES THE OTHER BODIES, THINKING THEY WERE
CORPSES JOE QUICKLY SHUFFLES AWAY FROM THEM. HE SEES THE DOOR
AND QUICKLY REACHES FOR IT AND STARTS TWISTING THE DOORKNOB AS
HARD AS HE CAN BUT IT’S LOCKED JOE START SLAMMING AND KNOCKING
AGGRESSIVELY ON THE DOOR SCREAMING FOR HELP.

JOE
Help! Someone please!!

A MOAN CAN BE HEARD IN THE BACKGROUND

JOE SLOWLY APPROACHES ONE OF THE BODIES AND SLOWLY PULLS THE
SHEET OFF TO REVEAL ITS FACE.

RYAN
(screams)
RYAN TRIES TO PUSH JOE AWAY WHILE SCREAMING, HE STANDS UP. HE
STARTS LOOKING AROUND HIS ENVIRONMENT IN STRESS

RYAN

JOE STARES AT HIM BLANKLY

BOTH CHARACTERS START LOOKING AROUND THE ROOM

RYAN FINDS THE THIRD BODY

I don’t know when I woke up the two of you were laying down
covered in sheets, thought you were dead but turns out you’re
not. Try waking him up.

RYAN SLOWLY LIFTS THE SHEET OFF AND THE THIRD

BODY AND REVEALS A MAN, WITH BLOOD AND A KNIFE ON HIS SHIRT.
RYAN QUICKLY SHUFFLES AWAY FROM THE BODY

RYAN

JOE LIFTS HIS HEAD UP AND LOOKS AT RYAN’S GENERAL DIRECTION

JOE
What happened?

JOE WALKS UP TO RYAN

JOE

RYAN
Listen, we need to find a way out cause I don’t wanna end up
like that guy.

JOE
Check his body maybe he has anything that may help us escape.

(In a deep one) Hello gentlemen it seems that you’re confused
as to what is happening. Well, let me just say that you were
picked randomly and you don’t have to think of this as a
punishment for your past sins. Think of it more as a game
where you are the game pieces. In front of you is a game that
I always liked playing. I find it… relaxing, seeing the game
characters get hurt and being able to hurt them myself. I
really liked the sensation that I was interested in seeing
what it would be like if it happened to real people, which is
why I decided to do this- uh—project… (giggles)

RYAN

RYAN POINTS AT THE THIRD BODY
RYAN

SCREEN TURNS ON REVEALING THE GAME ON THE MENU SCREEN

BOTH CHARACTERS LOOK AT IT IN SHOCK

RYAN LOOKS BLANKLY AT JOE

THE TWO APPROACH THE TWO CONTROLLERS ON THE FLOOR

THE GAME STARTS AND JOE’S CHARACTER GOES TO HIT RYAN’S
CHARACTER

RYAN GOES TO GRAB JOE’S SHIRT

I don’t know, what the hell happened anyway?

me in the game?!

JOE PICKS UP RYAN’S CONTROLLER AND PROCEEDS TO HIT HIS OWN

CHARACTER
JOE FLINCHES SIDEWARD

JOE
Ah! What the hell?

RYAN
See? It’s like if we get hurt in the game we get hurt in real
life.

JOE
This guy really is a psychopath huh?

RYAN
Does this guy expect us to fight to the death so one of us can
escape?

VOICE INTERCOM TURNS ON WITH A BLEEP

VOICE
That’s it my boy, I guess you’re not that dumb after all. Now
you know the main rules of the game I wish you my best of luck
and may the best player win…

VOICE INTERCOM TURNS OFF WITH A BLEEP

BOTH CHARACTERS STARE AT EACH OTHER FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF
TIME. THEY SLOWLY TURN THEIR HEADS TOWARDS THE CONTROLLERS
THEY ARE HESITANT WHEN PICKING THE CONTROLLERS UP
JOE PRESSES ONE BUTTON, WHICH MAKES HIS CHARACTER HIT RYAN’S
CHARACTER
RYAN FLINCHES BACKWARDS
RYAN
Ahh! What the hell?!

What, we’re suppose to kill each other so one of us can escape

RYAN

JOE

RYAN PRESSES ONE BUTTON CAUSING HIS CHARACTER TO HIT JOE’S

RYAN STARES AT JOE AS JOE IS FEELING THE PAIN

JOE AND RYAN FLINCH BACKWARDS FOR EACH PUNCH THAT HITS THEM

remembered before you ended up in this place?

RYAN
I was in a hospital cuz my girl tried killing herself just
cause an asshole fired her from her job, I got out of that
place cause I couldn’t handle it and next thing I knew
everything went black.

JOE

RYAN PATS HIS TROUSERS AND PULLS OUT A PICTURE OUT OF HIS
POCKET AND SHOWS IT TO JOE
RYAN
Andrea, we’ve been together for god knows how long and I
didn’t treat her right but I still loved her. As soon as I’m
out of this place I’m gonna find the scum who did this to us
and the person who fired Andrea.
RYAN SEES THE PICTURE AND REALISES THAT
the girl he fired was Ryan’s girlfriend

JOE
Ye-yeah that’s rough man…

RYAN

JOE

RYAN

BOTH SLOWLY APPROACH THE BODY BUT BEFORE THEY COULD ANY CLOSER

didn’t pick you in random. You see Ryan, Joe right here is a
very wealthy man, he owns a business that is very successful
and has allowed his wealth and success to consume him. Due to
this he has cared less and less about people that work for
him. You see Ryan, Andrea used to work for Joe until, you
know, she tried killing herself. Ryan, Joe is the reason why
your partner is in a death bed right now.

VOICE INTERCOM ENDS WITH ANOTHER BLEEP

THE TWO STARE AT EACH OTHER FOR A SHORT TIME WITH RYAN HAVING
A FACE FILLED WITH RAGE AND JOE LOOKING SCARED

JOE
Ryan, Im very sorry. I-I didn’t kn—
 RYAN
You- you killed her.

RYAN CHARGES TOWARDS JOE

JOE

RYAN TACKLES JOE TO THE GROUND AND STARTS PUNCHING HIM IN THE
FACE AND BEATING HIM UP
RYAN
I’ll kill you!! You hear me? I’ll kill you!

AFTER DISORIENTING JOE, RYAN STANDS UP AND LOOKS AT HIS

CONTROLLER AND STARTS WALKING TOWARDS IT.

RYAN
Im ending this once and for all

RYAN LOOKS AT THE INTERCOM

RYAN
*whispers* and I’m coming for you next.

RYAN STARTS MASHING THE BUTTONS AND STARTS HITTING JOE’S

CHARACTER IN GAME AND WHILE JOE IS LAYING ON THE GROUND HE
FEELS ALL THE PAIN AND MOANS WHILE BEING TORTURED WITH THE
PAIN.
FINALLY JOE PASSES OUT AND RYAN WINS THE GAME
RYAN DROPS THE CONTROLLER WHILE BREATHING HEAVILY

RYAN
Hey! I won right?! Let me out of here!

VOICE INTERCOM TURNS ON AGAIN

VOICE
Well done Ryan, however, Joe isn’t dead yet. How bout you do
something about that?

RYAN GLANCES OVER THE KNIFE ON THE THIRD BODY AND LOOKS BACK
ON THE INTERCOM

RYAN
No, Im not killing him. I-I cant.
 VOICE
Think about Andrea, Ryan. Think about how---

RYAN TRIES TO TALK OVER THE VOICE BUT HE REALISES IT DOESN’T

STOP.

RYAN

VOICE CONTINUES TO TALK

THE THIRD BODY GETS UP BEHIND RYAN AND STABS HIM IN THE BACK
KILLING RYAN
JOE WAKES UP BUT IS UNABLE TO MOVE AND SEES THE THIRD BODY
DRAGGING RYAN’S BODY OUT OF THE ROOM
THIRD BODY: ANOTHER WEAKLING WHO DOESN’T UNDERSTAND TRUE
JUSTICE.
JOE TRIES TO SHUFFLE HIMSELF TOWARDS THE DOOR WHILE IT’S OPEN
WHILE GROANING
THE THIRD BODY TURNS AROUND TO LOOK AT JOE ON THE GROUND

THE THIRD BODY CLOSES THE DOOR AND LOCKS IT WHILE JOE IS
SCREAMING
