Atimonan's Tagultol Fishing Festival is one of the many festivals celebrated in the
country. Tagultol is a popular fishing method used by Atimonanins. The word
TAGULTOL was derived from the Tagalog word UGTOL meaning bounce. In the old days, Tagultol fishing material was made up of a rectangular stone tied at the end of a long abaca string dip in honey. Thorns of calamansi and similar plants were tied 2 feet above the stone. Worms, small fish or shrimps were used as bait then dipped in water in a bouncing movement. The five-day festivity coinciding the town fiesta and Feast of Patron Nuestra Senora de los Angeles starts July 29 until August 2 of every year. The event is a showcase of the rich culture of Atimonan, a display of the versatile talent, beauty, expertise and agility of the Atimonanins.
Word-groups can be classified in several ways, e.g., according to
order of members, word-class of members, omissibility of members, syntactic distribution, and meaning. The importance of any classification depends on its purpose. Of primary importance in linguistics is a structural classification, i.e. according to meaning as expressed by other features, i.e. according to similarities and dissimilarities of meanings, or ‘oppositions’. This kind of classification is applied, in a preliminary way, to Chinese, Latin, and English. Discussion of some aspects to word-groups in Indo-European languages: 1. The primitive System, 2.
