Decolonizing research strategies could represent a new emancipatory scenario to

indigenous communities?

Abstract

From the seventies exists debates on whom and how the researchers work with indigenous, since

initially the research were focusing in the objectivity by mean the western methodology and on

the other hand the aborigines were seen merely as informants. Aforementioned the purpose of

this editorial is to put in evidence that during the last decades there were some changes especially

important in the periphery, as in Latin-American. First place through participatory action research

(PAR), posteriorly collaborative ethnography and recently decolonizing research strategies. The

last option it seem to me could mean a transcendental epistemology turn toward self-

determination of the indigenous communities. The last point by mean the cinema as a tool for

what the communities represent their cosmogony.
