4.) IDLER ASSEMBLY
Step-1 >> Slider Gear on top of counter-shaft to slide and
engage the gears and it is placed above the ball
bearing attached to counter shaft.
Step-2 >> Interlock on Centre Axis and tightened with a bolt.
Step-3 >> Fork
Forks are used to engage the gears by moving their
shafts i.e. Idler shaft and Main Shaft.
A-A Fork with idler shaft and idler gear on the left of
counter-shaft.
Idler gear is used in reverse gear, it always rotates
but when reverse gear is engaged, it gets connected
to the first gear and reverses its direction.
Step-4 >> Then at the hole of the cone, main shaft is fitted upon
which first, second, third and reverse gear are fitted
with the help of coupling lock in the order below:
Opposite to Counter-shaft >> IInd gear >> coupling
lock >> reverse gear >> coupling lock >> Ist Gear >>
coupling lock >> IIIrd Gear

Then two more forks S and A are fitted:


S fork between IInd and reverse gear.
A fork between Ist and IIIrd gear.

It is a type of sliding mesh gear box.

The bores on the gear box for fitting counter shaft and main
shaft are named as such:
From the input, the first bore is W and IInd one is V.
Below W bore, there is S bore and next to it T & then U as
shown:
