You will join a group of ambitious scientists that work hard on the development of next-level
microbial expression systems. To achieve our ambitious goals, we are now looking for a new
colleague that can help us to develop upstream fermentation processes and is also willing to
learn within the fields of downstream processing and molecular biology.

About you
You are a person with experience in planning and performing bioreactor cultivations at different
scales. You are used to document your experiments properly and you can coordinate and
report to multiple collaboration partners. To succeed in this position, you need to have an
interest in upstream process development, the motivation to learn new things and the flexibility
to wear more than one „hat“ per day. Most importantly you thrive working in teams and help
your fellow team members achieving the common goals.

We expect a university degree in biotechnology or life sciences with experience in the field of
upstream process development (master thesis or similar experience or training).

About the job

As Staff scientist you will work closely with the management team and project groups. Main
focus of this position is on planning and executing recombinant protein expression experiments
at different scales and development of state of the art up- and downstream processes in an
integrated approach in close cooperation with your colleagues. You will also be introduced to
state of the art host cell engineering techniques and development of new expression hosts.
The main responsibilities are:
 development, optimization and characterization of fermentation processes
 scale-up of fermentation processes
 purification of recombinant proteins
 molecular biology (modify expression hosts)
 coordination of project activities and reporting to the management
