Bid Project

Description:

This project calls for Googlazon, a large technology company from Newark, to demolish their
existing steam pipe and have it replaced. The demolition portion is not a part of the scope of work, only
the replacement part is. In order to piece this process out step by step, we need to vividly examine the
scope of work and see what is being called upon. From the scope, the replacement of a 2”/4” stainless
steel and carbon steel schedule 40 pipe are being replaced, respectively. Other than that, 2”/4” carbon
steel 90 degree elbows schedule 40 and stainless steel 90 degree elbows are being placed, respectively.
Welded supports and insulation will be applied; outdoor pipes will get even more reinforcement with
0.016 corrugated aluminum. The indoor pipes are running in an MER on a pipe rack which is elevated at
15’; they then exit through the wall where they go outdoor and turn upwards to reach the roof where
the existing steam pipe is located; approximately 35’.
