Background
The physical and social environment where an individual is nurtured plays a vital role in shaping one’s
personality and behavior. With such premise, it is undeniable that in order to allow individuals to reach
their full potential, and to be productive members of society, a nurturing environment should be
present.
Mindanao is the second largest island in the Philippines. Bombarded by threat, poverty, and constant
fear, the past decades had been challenging for the people of Mindanao to achieve their fullest
potential.
The Project
Project Safe, Healthy, and Peaceful Environment or SHAPE hopes to help shape the future of
Mindanaoans by helping shape nurturing communities.
