This paper studies the ancient Yemeni deity, dhi-Smawsi, inthe light of inscriptions. The study reveals that dhi-Smawi had been worshiped in the region of the tribe of Amir, covering the area benween Al-Jawf and Najran, where inhabitants were involved in commerce and camel breeding. To point out Amir's faith and the role the deity played in their lives, the study presents a number of solemn offerings, and identifies their kinds and causes. The different offerings indicate that the people of Amir believed in their deity's supreme power 10 ‘protect them and their trade, to cure their diseases, and to forestall all evils that might befall them; whether travelling or settling, they had it as their safe haven at times of crisis. They had offered it all kinds of vows sift, farming lands, and built it temples where its rituals were performed.
