1) Monginis cake shop is one of many retail outlets of brand Monginis which gives bread and
bakery items. It is based on franchise model and has succeeded to maintain the standardization
of products at different outlets. The shop which I visited in Pashan also has number of
competitors in vicinity but the shop owner Mr. Ganesh said that the brand name of Monginis
has always brought more customers to his shop as compared to its competitors also they focus
on seasonal based cakes and pastries by giving special discounts on flavors of pastries and cakes
based on seasons, currently there was discounts on strawberry based products. They have tried
to do predictive analysis on customer footfall based on data and have devised orders for each
day based on data so that inventory wastage is minimal as bakery products have low shelf life.

2) Rashan Kart is an FMCG retail store based in Sus Village which is a one stop store for daily
household goods for the people of Sus and is frequently visited by students of SIU. It is like a
mini supermarket. As it is one of its kind in that area the store sees number of footfalls for
various products. Given the population mix of the area the store tries to sell brand for both rural
and urban population based on their preferences. The store has set up its distribution channel
with companies like HUL, P&G etc whose salesman visit the store weekly or monthly based on
volume and shelf life of goods for orders. The store also keeps various products of local origin
like Balaji, diamond, Funtoosh to attract rural customer of that areas. The store also sells fresh
vegetables and also provides free home delivery for 2km radius.

3) Car Spa is an automotive cleaning store which provides Exterior as well as interior cleaning
service for cars and bikes. Even though the store has low footfalls it has tried to retain its
customers especially the students who have their own vehicle in SIU and ISB&M due to its
nominal pricing of 250/- for interior and exterior cleaning for cars and 50/- for 2 wheelers which
is low compared to a minimum of 400/- for a wash in any conventional car wash store in pune.
With the migrating population to nearby flats in Sus the owner seems to be highly optimistic
regarding the future of Car Spa. Currently it has only one hydraulic press for cars but with
growing population it may not be a bad idea to have more hydraulic press.

4) Bharat Hardware & Electricals as the name suggests deals with supplies as welding rod,
electrical goods nuts &bolts, bathroom fittings & all building materials. It had its only shop in
Pashan but with growing construction activity in Sus the owner Mr. Devasi identified an
opportunity there and set up a store in Sus as there are number of housing projects in Sus which
daily requires hardware and electrical products. It has also attracted customers by providing
special discounts on bulk buying and also tied up with housing companies by offering them
discounts. It has also employed people in store who are part time electricians, carpenters and
offers their service based on nature of problems to the nearby households.

5) Jay Ganesh Dry Cleaners as name suggests provides services like dry cleaning, washing and
pressing services for people in and around Sus. Given the number of IT professional working in
IT hubs like Hinjewadi are shifting to Sus because of comparatively low rentals of flat. People are
usually very busy in their jobs and do not time to wash their clothes and especially corporate
clothing cannot be handwashed hence dry cleaning as a business has huge potential. Also the
store provides free pick-up and Delivery to nearby areas it has seen a rising customer demand.
The place where the clothes are washed and dry cleaned is located in Pirangut a place nearby
which ensures faster delivery of orders within 4 days or less depending on demand.

1) Given that 5.5% of population in India between the age of 15-45 suffer from diabetes usually the
same age group account for majority of customer for a Bakery hence with this assumption we
can predict 5.5% of growth in revenues of Monginis.

2) Car Spa has monthly revenue of 120000 and development of website cost 2000 (which is one
time) and monthly maintenance cost Rs1000 per month and with online presence and
subscription based registration will at least result in a modest growth of 5% in revenues. Hence
after the first month there will be increase in revenues by 5000Rs per month

120000*0.05-1000=5000
