support each claim?
a. Answer: I think student B is correct because there is the sun, earth, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune,
Venus, mars, Pluto, and mercury. (that’s all I know.) person A could have said that Pluto and the sun
were each not planets. (I think)
b. There are 8 planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Or
you could say there is 12 planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn,
Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Eris, Makemake, and Ceres.
2. On which planet would you weigh the least? What is your evidence to prove this?
a. Answer: I think you would weigh the least on the moon because reports have said that people have
lost weight on the moon
b. You would weigh the least on mars this is because it has the lowest mass and the mass of the
planet is what gives us weight.
3. How does the mass of our planet compare to the other inner planets?
I have not learned this yet.
Earth is the most massive of the inner planets
4. Dr. Grumbles claims that it is colder during the winter because Earth is farther from the sun.
Provide evidence to prove him right or wrong?
a. Answer: Dr. Grumbles is incorrect because the reason is half the planet is facing the sun and the
other half isn’t the half that’s not is colder during winter.
b. Dr. grumbles is incorrect the distance from the sun doesn’t cause seasons
seasons are caused by the tilt of the earth

5. How does the path of the sun in the sky change during seasons?
a. I think it’s because earth goes further away from the sun during different seasons.

b. The path of the sun is shorter in winter and longer in summer and its even in the
spring and fall.
6. How would seasons on Uranus be different from Earth?
a. Answer: It would be a lot colder because its WAY farther away than earth is from the sun.
The tilt is so much that the seasons are extreme. No sunlight in autumn and no
darkness in spring
