CPH SLIDE-LOK PLUG
30 AMP PLUG FOR USE IN HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS
CLASS 1, GROUP C&D
GROUNDED THROUGH EXTRA POLE AND SHELL
|. TO DISASSEMBLE PLUG -
1. Back out screw (2) rom the front housing (1). on
2. Unscrew the front housing (1) from the plug
housing (6),
3. Remove ground screw (5) which is attached to the I
front housing (1), so that the terminal holder (3) 1
can be removed from the front housing (1).
4. Loosen screw (10), remove cap assembly (9) by unscrewing from plug housing (6).

ITO CONNECT CABLE TO PLUG
1. Prepare the cable for wiring by stripping outer jacket about 2 1/8". Strip lead ends to expose 1/2" of bare
2. Loosen screws (11) allowing cable clamps to loosen. Slide cap assembly (9) and bushing crown (8) over
cable.
3, Select the appropriate rubber bushing (7) that closely fits the cable and slip bushing over cable.
4, Slide plug housing (6) over cable.
5. Loosen the setscrews (4) and insert the leads of the cable observing proper polarity and tighten screws (4)
individually.

Il_TO REASSEMBLE PLUG
1. Slide the terminal holder (3) inside the back of the front housing (1) polarizing accordingly and tighten the
ground screw (8) through the ground strap to the front housing (1)
STRIP CABLE AS SHOWN: | 2. Side the plug housing (6) to the front housing (1) and screw the plug
housing (6) into the front housing and tighten screw (2) securely.
Slide the selected bushing (7) tothe plug housing (6).
Slip cap assembly (9) to the plug housing (6) and tighten down to squeeze
selected bushing firmly against cable, Tighten screw (10) to prevent twisting
of cap,
5.Position the reversible clamps (12) and tighten clamp screws (11) so that
the cable clamps (12) are held securely round cable.
NOTE: THE CPH 30 AMP PLUG SHOULD BE WIRED WITH THREE OR FOUR CONDUCTORS, RUBBER
COVERED NO. 14THRU 10 TYPE S OR SO CORDS.

TO DISASSEMBLE RECEPTACLE
1, Remove screw (2).
2. Remove screw (4) and washer (6).
3, Rotate terminal holder counter-ciockwise.
NOTE: Steps 2 and 3 are not required for
making connections with conductors.
TO CONNECT CONDUCTORS TO RECEPTACLES:
1. Strip insulation from ends of individual conductors.
2. Loosen screws (3) and slide prepared ends of conductors ces
into contact recesses, observing proper polarty. Tighten screws, Receptacle
TO REASSEMBLE RECEPTACLE
1. Replace Receptacle housing (1) on Unilet (8), replace screws (2) and tighten.
POLARITY AND PHASE ROTATION
Slide-Lok Plug of Receptacle are polarized so that the plug will enter the receptacle only one way. Also, the
holes in the terminal holders are identified by color. Terminals in a plug hole always mate with those in the recep-
tacle identified by the same color. This makes it easy to carry the proper polarity or phase rotation of conductors,
through the plug and receptacle,
