DO READ ALL THE GUIDELINES FOR SAFETY AND OPERATION BEFORE OPRERATING THE MACHINE.Guidelines for safety (1) The voltage of the output socket will still reach 220V although UPS is not connected with electric supply. (2) In case that the charging line and power line need changing, please purchase the materials from our company’s service station or our dealers in order to avoid insuffi nt capacity which results in heat, spark as well as even fire. (3) The deposal of the batteries and piles with fire is not allowed, for it will cause explosion and injury. (4) Don't open or damage the battery, because the electrolyte overflowing is rather poisonous and bad for people's health. (5) Don't short-circuit the anode and cathode of the battery, or there will be electric-shock or fire. (6) Don't open the crust of UPS arbitrarily, or there will be danger of electric-shock. (7) Don't touch the connection terminals of the battery. If the circuit of battery and input voltage circuit are not isolated from each other, there will be high-voltage dangers between the battery terminals and earth. (8) The connection with the blower, electri heater as well other electric appliances is not usually recommended for the sake of the safety of mac! es. Note: if there are some problems, please consult the professionals, dealers, SANTAK service station in the local areas as well as the service center in our head office(service hot line: 8008303938), due to the high voltage in UPS which may threaten the staff safety. Don't repair it arbitrarily.Il. Assembly guidelines: i to unwrap and examine 1, Unwrap the package of UPS and examine the accessories including one user's manual and one input power wire. As for long-acting UPS, the accessories should include one connecting line for batteries in addition to those mentioned above. 2. Check whether UPS has been damaged during transit. If any damage or shortage of work parts occurs, don't start the machine. Instead, inform the shippers and dealers of the problems the soonest possible. 3. Confirm the type of the commodity by going through the type description on the front panel and rear cover. The commodity of this series is rather heavy. For hence, do handle it carefully.ii, Precautions for assembly: 1, The place where UPS is set must be ventilated, far from water, flammable gas and corrosives. 2. Don’t put it on one side. Ensure that the fresh air inlets below the front panel and the side face of the box, as well the bleed hole on the rear fan are not jammed. 3. The ambient temperature of UPS should be kept between 0°C and 40 C. 4, There may appear condensation water when assembling UPS under low-temperature condition. Therefore see to it that the machine has gotten dry absolutely inside and outside in advance of installation and utilization, or the danger of electrocution will be aroused. 5. Locate UPS near the socket of electric supply to convenience cutting off the power supply by taking out the plug. Note: (1) First turn off the load, second connect, and turn on the load one by one at last when the load is connected with UPS. (2) Connect UPS to the specified socket equipped with over-current protector. (3) Connect the power socket to the protective ground wire. (4) Insert the input power line to the socket of electric supply, UPS is nevertheless energized. Turning off UPS cannot de-energize the inside of said machir Therefore, the switch must be turned off first and then cutoff electric supply to break power supply of UPS. (8) As for standard machines, charge the battery for 8 hours before using. UPS can automatically charge the battery provided the power plug is connected to the host machines. Without charging the batteries, UPS can still be used at once, only having less service time than standard. (6) The capacity need calculating as per the start-up power when choosing UPS, for the running power is too large provided motors, displayers, laser printer as well as other inductive load are connected to the machine. In addition, the capacity of socket shall be taken into consideration. As for C1K(S) and C2K(S), their capacity need be over 10A, while C3K(S) needs a capacity of over 16A. As for the output of C1K (S) and C2K (S), only sockets are in demand. Just insert the load power line into the output socket. Please consult Fig2-10(the output of C1K(S) and C2K(S)). Fig2-10 2. In addition to using sockets, C3K(S) can use terminal body to effect output. Please consult the wiring steps as following and Fig2-11(the connection for the terminal body of C3K(S).Fig2-11 (1) Tear down the small cover board on the terminal body. (2) Do wiring with AWG14 or 2.1mm? materials. (3) Please check the fastness of the wires after finishing wiring. (4) Put the small cover board back into the box. vi The battery circumscription procedure of long-acting machine. 1. Pursuant to the different type of UPS, apply the correct battery voltage: 3 pieces of battery totally at 36V for C1KS, 8 pieces totally at 96V for both C2KS and C3KS. Abide by the instruction, more or less not allowed. 2. One terminal of the charging line is a pin used to connect UPS, while the other divided into three radius-type wires is used to connect the battery set. The procedure of battery connection is paramount. There will be danger of electric shock provided the detailed operation doesn’t conform to the certain procedure. Therefore, abide by the following steps without fails. (1) First connect the batteries in series to ensure the proper-amplitude voltage. (2) Connect the charging line to the batteries before connecting UPS, or the worker will risk electric shock. The red one is connected to anode “+”, the black one to cathode “.” and the yellow-green is connected to ground. 3. Don't connect UPS to any load before connecting it to power line whichcan offer electric supply to UPS. 4. The connection can be done by inserting the pin to the socket and then UPS starts to charge the battery set. Consult Fig2-12(the sketch map for the connection of long-acting battery of C1KS-C3KS). Any training is not necessary; instead, operators only need going through the user's manual and conform to it when operating, i Operation: 4. Connect to electric supply and start UPS. (1)Connect UPS to electric supply. A procedure that UPS works in shunt mode or not once it has be connected to UPS can be set using‘WinPower software downloaded from SANTAX web free of charge. (2)Press Starting -up key for at least 1 second before UPS is started. (3) Once UPS is started, will enter into self-checking procedure when all the indicator lights of load and battery on the panel begin shinning. Later, the indicator lights become extinct one by one, and the invert indicator lights will shine after several seconds, which means that UPS is running in the electric supply mode. If there is something wrong with electric supply, UPS will run in the battery mode. 2. Start UPS by using DC without connecting to electric supply. (1) Press the star \9-up key for at least 1 second to start UPS. (2) When starting UPS, everything will appear the same as connected to electric supply, only the electric supply indicator lights being extinct. 3. The shutdown of UPS when there is electric supply. (1) Press the shutdown key for at least one second to turn off ups. (2) The relative indicator light will shine if the setting procedure of WinPower is in shunt mode. And UPS runs in shunt mode.(3) The above-mentioned operation has been finished; nevertheless, there is output as for UPS. To stop the output of UPS, we can turn off the electric supply. And the output voltage of UPS will be terminated after the extinguishment of all the indicator lights inclusive of load ones and battery ones, leaving nothing displayed on the panel. 4, Start UPS by using DC without electric supply. (1) Press the shutdown key for at least 1 second to turn off UPS. (2) Before UPS is absolutely turned off with output voltage terminated, it will enter into self- checking procedure, with indicator lights of load and battery on the panel crushing out ‘one by one till nothing is displayed on the panel. ii Operation mode 1, Electric supply mode We can consult Fig3-1 for the indications of panel running in the electric supply mode. The indicator light of electric supply and invert indicator lights will shine and the load indicator light will be lightened pursuant to the load capacity. Oy The indicator lights for the electric supply twinkling means that the zero conductor and live wire are not connected right and UPS is still running in electric supply mode; the battery indicatorlights shining shows that the voltage and frequency of electric supply have exceeded the normal range, with UPS running in battery mode. (2) Provided the load indicator lights are over 100%, the buzzer will buzz every half second to remind you of overload until you dismiss the unnecessary ones in sequence and the load of UPS becomes less than 100%. (3) The battery indicator lights twinkling means that UPS is not connected to batteries or the battery voltage is too low. So check the battery connection and inspect the battery by pressing start-up key for one second. If there is nothing wrong with connection, the problem may result from the battery failure or aging. Please consult the table of fault clearance in Chapter6. Note: IFit connects with generator, procedure should be followed as below: © Start the generator. When the generator runs stably, connect them together (make sure that the UPS is unloaded), and then start up UPS. After UPS started up, connect load one by one. ‘© Suggestion: select generator volume according to twice UPS volume 2. Battery mode See figure 3-2 for panel indication under battery mode, and battery indication light and inversion indication light are both illuminated. if abnormal electric supply is connected, the electric supply light will twinkle at the same time. Battery volume light will be illuminated according to size of the battery volume. 1) When UPS is running under the battery mode, buzz will alarm every 4 seconds. If press start button for above 1 second, UPS will execute muffle function, and the buzz will not alarm any more. If press the start button for above 1 second again, the alarm will recover. 2) When the battery volume decreases, quantity of illuminated battery volume lights will diminish. When battery voltage decrease to alarm level(it can keep supplying powerfor 2 minut ), and the buzz will alarm every 1 second to remind the user that the battery supply is insufficient. The user should stop all the loads one by one immediately. 3) Check backup function though UPS without connection of electric supply, 3. Bypass mode (Set the UPS bypass status by Winpower) See figure 3-3 for panel of bypass mode. Electric supply light and bypass indication light are illuminated, and load fight will be illuminated according to volume of the loads. The UPS will buzz every 2 minutes. 1) Ifelectric supply indication light is twinkling, that means voltage and frequency of the electric supply exceeds the allowed range or neutral and line are reversed, 2)_ Indications of the other panels are same with the description of electric supply mode 3) UPS possesses backup function, when it is working under bypass mode. The power supply of the loads are supplied by electric system through filtering at this time. 4 Abnormal mode If the UPS fault indication light is illuminated, that means the UPS is running under abnormal mode. See abnormal status troubleshooting table for eliminating the fault IV.
