He was one of the WWF's most beloved "babyfaces" throughout the 1970s and
early '80s, and for 14 years never lost by pinfall or submission in a WWF ring,
before being pinned by Hulk Hogan on March 29, 1987 at WrestleMania III.
Roussimoff had lost clean in matches outside of the parameters of the WWF; a
pinfall loss in Mexico to El Canek in 1984, and in Japan, a submission loss to
Antonio Inoki in 1986. He also went 60-minute time limit draws with the two
other major world champions of the day, Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel.
Roussimoff had memorable clashes all over the world with a variety of tough,
rugged opponents. Among his chief rivals in the ring: The Sheik (who gained a
deathmatch win over the Frenchman in 1974 with the help of his fireball),
Abdullah the Butcher, Stan Hansen, Ernie Ladd, and a young Hulk Hogan, who
first met Roussimoff in 1978 during his rookie years in the deep South. Hogan
and André would go on to have one of the great WWF feuds of 1980, peaking in front of 36,295 fans at the
Showdown At Shea event, on August 9, 1980 in Flushing, New York's Shea Stadium.

As Steve Austin, he is best known for establishing the "anti-authority" face and
"Boss vs. Employee" storyline, which has been used in some variation by
numerous wrestlers like The Rock and John Cena. Traditionally, faces in wrestling
were known as clean cut, respectable role models, and rebellious characters who
bent the rules were labeled as heels. Austin effectively changed the whole
dynamic of the face/heel struture in wrestling forever.
Austin went on to win his first WWF Championship in March 1998, defeating
Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XIV in Boston. Mike Tyson served as special
guest referee for their contest and photographs of Austin & Tyson celebrating
together after the bout made newspapers worldwide. By now, Austin's authority-
challenging, beer-swilling everyman persona was firmly over with the fans, who
loudly lapped up every middle finger, swear word and catchphrase, including
"Hell Yeah!" and "Cause Stone Cold Said So!"
The next night on RAW, Vince McMahon offered to work with Stone Cold, but
only if Austin would agree to do things "his way." Austin refused, giving McMahon the Stone Cold Stunner and
thereby choosing to do things "the hard way." The feud built over the next few weeks until finally McMahon
challenged Austin to a match on RAW that ended in a disqualification due to interference from Dude Love. The
Austin vs. McMahon match resulted in the first
ratings victory by the WWF in the Monday Night

Bret “The Hitman” Hart
Bret Sergeant Hart (born July 2, 1957 in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian former professional wrestler,
and part of the famous Hart wrestling family. In the course of his
career, he was known by several monikers: Bret "The Hitman"
Hart, "The Excellence of Execution" (originally dubbed as such by
the late Gorilla Monsoon) and perhaps the most resounding, "The best
there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be."
Rogers was not well liked during his prime years because he had a
habit of taking advantage of opponents in the ring. With age he
mellowed and became a very respected veteran. Rogers was considered the first total package wrestler.
He had all the looks, physique, personality and ability promoters wanted. He is often attributed with
developing the psychology that several heels
went on to use with great success and inventing "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers F / H

Figure-Four Leglock). He had one of the Primary Finisher- Figure Four Grapevine

Arguably the best wrestler to never hold a major World Heavyweight title,
DiBiase still had one of the most illustrious careers in professional wrestling.
In the WWF, DiBiase became one of the most hated heels of all time. He was
known as the "Million Dollar Man," a wealthy millionaire gimmick which
included the wearing of a gold studded suit and a custom 'Million Dollar Belt'
around his waist when entering the ring. He claimed "everybody has a price"
and made it his goal to acquire the WWF Championship by buying it if he
must. He frequently traveled around in limousines and gave $100 tips to
waiters in restaurants. He also invited fans (including a young Rob Van Dam)
into the ring or to the stage (platform where they did interview segments) to
perform humiliating acts (such as kissing his feet) for money. One of the more
infamous of these humilating acts was when he invited a kid onto a stage and
told him if he bounced a ball fifteen times in succession, DiBiase would pay
him lots of cash. After the fourteenth bounce, DiBiase kicked the ball away and
the kid went home broke (In reality, the kid was preselected and was paid for doing the sketch). He acquired a
bodyguard, Virgil, who eventually grew tired of DiBiase's abuse and made an inspirational breach of services at the
1991 Royal Rumble.
Since the late 70s, he has worn ornate, fur lined robes of many colors
with sequins, and since the mid 80s, his approach to the ring was often
heralded by the playing of the Richard Strauss composition Also sprach Zarathustra (the theme of the
film 2001: A Space Odyssey). The look and sound complements his cocky in-ring persona.
Foley, who became a professional wrestler in 1983, was noted for his hardcore
matches, which frequently left him injured. These injuries included eight
concussions, part of his ear being ripped off, and over 300 stitches. While he is
self-admittedly not one of the most physically-gifted wrestlers of all-time,
Foley gained notoriety for his thoughtful and intense promos, in-ring tenacity,
and willingness to put his body on the line for many dangerous spots. He was
also known for having three distinct gimmicks as a wrestler: Cactus Jack, a
maniacal and bloodthirsty Western outlaw, Mankind, a tortured soul who hid
behind a leather mask and inflicted pain on others to ease his memories of his
dark past, and Dude Love, a swinging "hip cat" and weenie. In addition to
these, he occasionally also wrestled as "Mick Foley."

Greg “The Hammer” Valentine
Gregory Lee (born September 10, 1951 in Seattle, Washington) is an
American professional wrestler, better known as Greg "The Hammer"
Valentine. He is the son of wrestling legend Johnny Valentine.
Greg Valentine was known and respected for his stamina and consistently
stiff wrestling style. He and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair perpetuated the
tradition of wearing glamorous robes to the ring, much like previous
generations of wrestlers such as "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers and Gorgeous
George had. He has held multiple titles in both the NWA and the WWF, the
two largest promotions of the 1980s and 1990s, and appeared on both the
first and the twentieth WrestleManias.
The Honky Tonk Man won the WWF Intercontinental Championship from
Ricky Steamboat in 1987 and held it for over a year. He is the self-professed
"greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time" due to his record fifteen
month title reign; this claim was supported by a poll of fans conducted by
the WWF.
During his 1980s heyday wrestling for the World Wrestling Federation as the
wholesome babyface character 'Hulk Hogan', Terry Bollea became one of the highest-
drawing, most popular wrestlers in the history of the business. After flagging popularity,
a steroid scandal, 'retirements' and lawsuits damaged his momentum in the 1990s, he
jumped ship to the WWF's then-rival, World Championship Wrestling.
He later turned heel and became a sneering bad guy in July 1996, re-energizing and
redefining his career as the greedy and manipulative villain Hollywood Hogan,
eventually returning to face status and the WWE. During his long career, he appeared
and starred in several movies and TV shows, and now busies himself with occasional
World Wrestling Entertainment appearances and the management of the music career of
his daughter, Brooke Hogan.
Politics entered the sport of wrestling with the Iron Sheik. The onetime
bodyguard for the Shah of Iran was discovered at the 1972 Olympics by
AWA promoter Verne Gagne. (Although he was billed as having been a 1968
Olympic medalist, this is untrue.) Known as The Great Hossein, he won his
first title, the Canadian Tag Team Championship, with partner the Texas
Outlaw.
This victory caught the eye of the WWF where he debuted in 1979 and won
the first-ever Battle Royal in Madison Square Garden, earning him a title shot
at then-champion Bob Backlund, who pinned him later that night in a 30-
minute battle. Arguably the best remembered transitional champion in pro
wrestling history, the Iron Sheik returned to the WWF in 1983 and challenged
Backlund once again, defeating him on December 26, 1983 for the World
Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship.
One of the greatest legitimate wrestlers to ever hold a World title, Vaziri dropped the belt just four weeks later to
Hulk Hogan and went on to team with Nikolai Volkoff and win the Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania I.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked him #239 of the 500 best singles
wrestlers during the "PWI Years" in 2003. He was also ranked #67 of the 100 best tag teams of the "PWI Years" with Adrian
Adonis.
JYD, as he was also known, was one of the most popular wrestlers of
the 1980s and 1990s.
JYD had a brief run in WCW where he feuded with Ric Flair and won
the Six-Man Tag Team Championship with Ricky Morton and Tommy
Rich.

Ladd started wrestling in 1965. As a publicity stunt, some wrestlers in the San
Diego area challenged Ladd to a private wrestling workout. Before long, Ladd
was a part-time competitor in Los Angeles, during football's off-season. Ladd
became a huge draw in short order. Ladd became one of wrestling's most hated
heels during the 1970's, as well as one of the first African-American wrestlers
to portray a heel character. In addition to riling crowds with his arrogant and
colorful demeanor during interviews, Ladd also gained infamy through use of
his controversial taped thumb, which Ladd claimed was from an old football
injury. Often, when Ladd appeared to be in serious trouble during a match, he'd
walk out of the arena and accept a countout loss. This practice has since
become known as "pulling an Ernie Ladd" in some circles.
Born on September 10, 1949, Muraco wrestled in the old AWA, and several
National Wrestling Alliance territories (including Vancouver-based NWA
All-Star Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett
Promotions). His greatest success was in the early 80's in the WWE where he
held the Intercontinental Championship twice for a combined period of
almost 18 months. The hugely muscular and genuinely intimidating Don
Muraco had bloody feuds with Pedro Morales, Bob Backlund, Rocky
Johnson, Jimmy Snuka and Tito Santana.
In the early 90's Muraco was the first to hold the ECW World Heavyweight
Championship, before it became Extreme Championship Wrestling.
He made a name for himself in the early 1980's in the National Wrestling
Alliance where he feuded with Masked Superstar and won the NWA National
Heavyweight Title three times.
In 1985, he wrestled in the WWF where he teamed with Roddy Piper and Bob
Orton, Jr. to feud with Hulk Hogan. He was part of the main event at
Wrestlemania I on March 31, 1985 where he teamed with Piper and lost to
Hogan and Mr. T.
Piper and Orton soon broke away from Orndorff, and he followed by teaming
with former adversary Hogan. They continued to team till mid-1986 when
continued rifts, in part with Adrian Adonis trying to stir dissention, caused to
team to split, by Orndorff turning heel again after a tag match with Hogan against King Kong Bundy and Big John
Studd by clotheslining Hogan and then giving him Orndorff's signature piledriver.
Pedro Morales became the first hispanic to become the World Wide
Wrestling Federation (WWWF) Heavyweight Champion from
February 8, 1971 until December 1, 1973. He also held the World
Wrestling Association Championship in California circa 1965, the
WWF Intercontinental Championship on two occasions, and the
WWF [WWE] World Tag Team Title with Bob Backlund. Until the
1990s he was the only man to have held all three major WWF
[WWE] Championships.
Pedro Morales was the first hispanic and the first Puerto Rican to be
inducted into the WWE (formerly the WWF) Hall of Fame in 1995.

In the WWF, Rude was managed by Bobby Heenan and feuded with Paul
Orndorff before starting one of his most famous feuds with Jake "the Snake"
Roberts. Rude had a routine where he would kiss a girl (that Heenan picked
from the fans) all the way down to the mat. He tried to get Roberts' wife,
Cheryl, to comply, aggravating Roberts. On one memorable occasion, Rude
came to the ring with a picture of Cheryl stenciled on the front of his tights. A
furious Roberts charged the ring and stripped Rude, appearing to leave him
naked.
Rude was able to appear on both RAW is WAR and WCW Monday Nitro on
November 17, 1997. A bearded Rood appeared on RAW (which had been
taped six days earlier) and then on Nitro, which was live, clean shaven.
Rick Rood passed away on April 20, 1999 after suffering heart failure.

One of the most popular wrestlers from the late 1950s through the

Steele was almost always a crazy heel, but eventually he was one of the more beloved wrestlers of the

His most famous feud was in 1986 against Randy "Macho Man" Savage, after Steele developed a crush
on Savage's valet, Miss Elizabeth. The feud was meant to last only a couple of months (and end with
Steele being disappointed), but it proved so popular with fans that it continued well into 1987. In 1988,

“Chief” Jay Strongbow
Joseph Luke Scarpa was a professional wrestler who was best known by his famous ring moniker, Chief Jay
Strongbow. Scarpa portrayed a Native American wrestler who wore a traditional headdress to the ring, and would
"go on the warpath" when the fans started cheering him on against an
opponent. He was one of the popular wrestlers of the 1960's and 1970's.
He feuded with the likes of "The Golden Greek" Spiros Arion, "Handsome"
Jimmy Valiant, and Superstar Billy Graham. His most famous feud was
against Greg Valentine, who broke Strongbow's leg in 1979. The two waged
war all over the WWF circuit, most famously in a violent "Indian Strap
Match" in Madison Square Garden, on July 30, 1979.
Strongbow also competed for The Sheik's Big Time Wrestling promotion in
Detroit. He had a memorable feud with "Bulldog" Don Kent, which
culminated in a bizarre "shark cage match" in 1977. Strongbow and Kent
fought inside of a small shark cage, with the first man to escape being
declared the winner. With an assist from fellow fan favorite Mark Lewin,
Strongbow was able to escape the shark cage victorious.
Strongbow retired in 1985, but would still step back into the ring from time
to time, most notably for a legends battle royal in East Rutherford, New Jersey
in 1987. In retirement, Strongbow became a WWF road agent and worked in the company's front office. He also
participated in a 1993 storyline in which he mentored Tatanka, in his feud with Irwin R. Schyster. Chief Jay
Strongbow was inducted into the WWE Hall of

made by others.
This License is a kind of "copyleft", which means that derivative works of the document
must themselves be free in the same sense. It complements the GNU General Public

We have designed this License in order to use it for manuals for free software, because
free software needs free documentation: a free program should come with manuals
providing the same freedoms that the software does. But this License is not limited to
software manuals; it can be used for any textual work, regardless of subject matter or
whether it is published as a printed book. We recommend this License principally for
works whose purpose is instruction or reference.
A "Modified Version" of the Document means any work containing the Document or a
portion of it, either copied verbatim, or with modifications and/or translated into another
language.
The "Invariant Sections" are certain Secondary Sections whose titles are designated, as
being those of Invariant Sections, in the notice that says that the Document is released

not allowed to be designated as Invariant. The Document may contain zero Invariant
Sections. If the Document does not identify any Invariant Sections then there are none.
The "Cover Texts" are certain short passages of text that are listed, as Front-Cover Texts
or Back-Cover Texts, in the notice that says that the Document is released under this

The "Title Page" means, for a printed book, the title page itself, plus such following
pages as are needed to hold, legibly, the material this License requires to appear in the
title page. For works in formats which do not have any title page as such, "Title Page"
means the text near the most prominent appearance of the work's title, preceding the
beginning of the body of the text.
A section "Entitled XYZ" means a named subunit of the Document whose title either is
precisely XYZ or contains XYZ in parentheses following text that translates XYZ in
another language. (Here XYZ stands for a specific section name mentioned below, such
as "Acknowledgements", "Dedications", "Endorsements", or "History".) To "Preserve the

2. VERBATIM COPYING
You may copy and distribute the Document in any medium, either commercially or
noncommercially, provided that this License, the copyright notices, and the license notice
saying this License applies to the Document are reproduced in all copies, and that you
add no other conditions whatsoever to those of this License. You may not use technical
measures to obstruct or control the reading or further copying of the copies you make or
distribute. However, you may accept compensation in exchange for copies. If you
distribute a large enough number of copies you must also follow the conditions in section
3.
You may also lend copies, under the same conditions stated above, and you may publicly
display copies.
3. COPYING IN QUANTITY
If you publish printed copies (or copies in media that commonly have printed covers) of
the Document, numbering more than 100, and the Document's license notice requires
Cover Texts, you must enclose the copies in covers that carry, clearly and legibly, all
these Cover Texts: Front-Cover Texts on the front cover, and Back-Cover Texts on the
back cover. Both covers must also clearly and legibly identify you as the publisher of
these copies. The front cover must present the full title with all words of the title equally
prominent and visible. You may add other material on the covers in addition. Copying
with changes limited to the covers, as long as they preserve the title of the Document and
satisfy these conditions, can be treated as verbatim copying in other respects.
If the required texts for either cover are too voluminous to fit legibly, you should put the
first ones listed (as many as fit reasonably) on the actual cover, and continue the rest onto
adjacent pages.
If you publish or distribute Opaque copies of the Document numbering more than 100,
you must either include a machine-readable Transparent copy along with each Opaque
copy, or state in or with each Opaque copy a computer-network location from which the
general network-using public has access to download using public-standard network
protocols a complete Transparent copy of the Document, free of added material. If you
use the latter option, you must take reasonably prudent steps, when you begin distribution
of Opaque copies in quantity, to ensure that this Transparent copy will remain thus
accessible at the stated location until at least one year after the last time you distribute an
Opaque copy (directly or through your agents or retailers) of that edition to the public.
It is requested, but not required, that you contact the authors of the Document well before
redistributing any large number of copies, to give them a chance to provide you with an
updated version of the Document.
4. MODIFICATIONS
You may copy and distribute a Modified Version of the Document under the conditions
of sections 2 and 3 above, provided that you release the Modified Version under precisely
this License, with the Modified Version filling the role of the Document, thus licensing
distribution and modification of the Modified Version to whoever possesses a copy of it.
In addition, you must do these things in the Modified Version:
• A. Use in the Title Page (and on the covers, if any) a title distinct from that of the
Document, and from those of previous versions (which should, if there were any,
be listed in the History section of the Document). You may use the same title as a
previous version if the original publisher of that version gives permission.
• B. List on the Title Page, as authors, one or more persons or entities responsible
for authorship of the modifications in the Modified Version, together with at least
five of the principal authors of the Document (all of its principal authors, if it has
fewer than five), unless they release you from this requirement.
• C. State on the Title page the name of the publisher of the Modified Version, as
the publisher.
• D. Preserve all the copyright notices of the Document.
• E. Add an appropriate copyright notice for your modifications adjacent to the
other copyright notices.
• F. Include, immediately after the copyright notices, a license notice giving the
public permission to use the Modified Version under the terms of this License, in
the form shown in the Addendum below.
• G. Preserve in that license notice the full lists of Invariant Sections and required
Cover Texts given in the Document's license notice.
• H. Include an unaltered copy of this License.
• I. Preserve the section Entitled "History", Preserve its Title, and add to it an item
stating at least the title, year, new authors, and publisher of the Modified Version
as given on the Title Page. If there is no section Entitled "History" in the
Document, create one stating the title, year, authors, and publisher of the
Document as given on its Title Page, then add an item describing the Modified
Version as stated in the previous sentence.
• J. Preserve the network location, if any, given in the Document for public access
to a Transparent copy of the Document, and likewise the network locations given
in the Document for previous versions it was based on. These may be placed in
the "History" section. You may omit a network location for a work that was
published at least four years before the Document itself, or if the original
publisher of the version it refers to gives permission.
• K. For any section Entitled "Acknowledgements" or "Dedications", Preserve the
Title of the section, and preserve in the section all the substance and tone of each
of the contributor acknowledgements and/or dedications given therein.
• L. Preserve all the Invariant Sections of the Document, unaltered in their text and
in their titles. Section numbers or the equivalent are not considered part of the
section titles.
• M. Delete any section Entitled "Endorsements". Such a section may not be
included in the Modified Version.
• N. Do not retitle any existing section to be Entitled "Endorsements" or to conflict
in title with any Invariant Section.
• O. Preserve any Warranty Disclaimers.
If the Modified Version includes new front-matter sections or appendices that qualify as
Secondary Sections and contain no material copied from the Document, you may at your
option designate some or all of these sections as invariant. To do this, add their titles to
the list of Invariant Sections in the Modified Version's license notice. These titles must be
distinct from any other section titles.
You may add a section Entitled "Endorsements", provided it contains nothing but
endorsements of your Modified Version by various parties--for example, statements of
peer review or that the text has been approved by an organization as the authoritative
definition of a standard.
You may add a passage of up to five words as a Front-Cover Text, and a passage of up to
25 words as a Back-Cover Text, to the end of the list of Cover Texts in the Modified
Version. Only one passage of Front-Cover Text and one of Back-Cover Text may be
added by (or through arrangements made by) any one entity. If the Document already
includes a cover text for the same cover, previously added by you or by arrangement
made by the same entity you are acting on behalf of, you may not add another; but you
may replace the old one, on explicit permission from the previous publisher that added
the old one.
The author(s) and publisher(s) of the Document do not by this License give permission to
use their names for publicity for or to assert or imply endorsement of any Modified
Version.
5. COMBINING DOCUMENTS
You may combine the Document with other documents released under this License,
under the terms defined in section 4 above for modified versions, provided that you
include in the combination all of the Invariant Sections of all of the original documents,
unmodified, and list them all as Invariant Sections of your combined work in its license
notice, and that you preserve all their Warranty Disclaimers.
The combined work need only contain one copy of this License, and multiple identical
Invariant Sections may be replaced with a single copy. If there are multiple Invariant
Sections with the same name but different contents, make the title of each such section
unique by adding at the end of it, in parentheses, the name of the original author or
publisher of that section if known, or else a unique number. Make the same adjustment to
the section titles in the list of Invariant Sections in the license notice of the combined
work.
In the combination, you must combine any sections Entitled "History" in the various
original documents, forming one section Entitled "History"; likewise combine any
sections Entitled "Acknowledgements", and any sections Entitled "Dedications". You
must delete all sections Entitled "Endorsements."
6. COLLECTIONS OF DOCUMENTS
You may make a collection consisting of the Document and other documents released
under this License, and replace the individual copies of this License in the various
documents with a single copy that is included in the collection, provided that you follow
the rules of this License for verbatim copying of each of the documents in all other
respects.
You may extract a single document from such a collection, and distribute it individually
under this License, provided you insert a copy of this License into the extracted
document, and follow this License in all other respects regarding verbatim copying of
that document.
If the Cover Text requirement of section 3 is applicable to these copies of the Document,
then if the Document is less than one half of the entire aggregate, the Document's Cover
Texts may be placed on covers that bracket the Document within the aggregate, or the
electronic equivalent of covers if the Document is in electronic form. Otherwise they
must appear on printed covers that bracket the whole aggregate.
8. TRANSLATION
Translation is considered a kind of modification, so you may distribute translations of the
Document under the terms of section 4. Replacing Invariant Sections with translations
requires special permission from their copyright holders, but you may include translations
of some or all Invariant Sections in addition to the original versions of these Invariant
Sections. You may include a translation of this License, and all the license notices in the
Document, and any Warranty Disclaimers, provided that you also include the original
English version of this License and the original versions of those notices and disclaimers.
In case of a disagreement between the translation and the original version of this License
or a notice or disclaimer, the original version will prevail.
9. TERMINATION
You may not copy, modify, sublicense, or distribute the Document except as expressly
provided for under this License. Any other attempt to copy, modify, sublicense or
distribute the Document is void, and will automatically terminate your rights under this
License. However, parties who have received copies, or rights, from you under this
License will not have their licenses terminated so long as such parties remain in full
compliance.
Each version of the License is given a distinguishing version number. If the Document
specifies that a particular numbered version of this License "or any later version" applies
to it, you have the option of following the terms and conditions either of that specified
version or of any later version that has been published (not as a draft) by the Free
Software Foundation. If the Document does not specify a version number of this License,
you may choose any version ever published (not as a draft) by the Free Software
Foundation.
