Sub: International Youth Day (IYD) –observance-Taking Pledge and Essay Writing

Control Society.
International Youth Day is observed annually on 12th August. This year the theme
for the International Youth Day is “Youth Civic Engagement- a step towards change”. The
theme is based on the understanding that youth should contribute in the building and
designing of their own future. Kerala State AIDS Control Society is planning to conduct the
following programme in association with the day observance.
1. Pledge
An oath taking ceremony may be conducted in association with the observance
of view of observing the International Youth Day 2015 by all the Higher
Secondary Schools. The oath to be sworn is attached.
2. Essay Writing Competition
An Essay Writing Competition is proposed to be conducted for Higher Secondary
Students. The subject of the Essay is “Life Skill for HIV Prevention”. A
preliminary competition should be conducted at the school level and two
selected essays should be forwarded to the Kerala State AIDS Control Society
before 12th August 2015. Details of Essay Competition are attached.
All the Principals are directed to observe International Youth Day by convening a
special assembly and pledge taking ceremony should be conducted. Principals should also
take necessary action to conduct Essay Competition in the school and selected essay should
be forwarded within the given time to KSACS
