has 8 spokes, which represent 24
hours of the day.

 The Red colour indicates that the Volunteer share full of


blood i.e life, active and spirited to do selfless service .

a tiny part ready to contribute its share for the welfare
of mankind

REGULAR ACTIVITIES

 Community Work For 120 Hours Per Year

Under this Programme, Each And Every the Volunteers are involved In
Various Development Activities (Personally / Socially) For 120 Hours.

 2 Hours General Orientation


 8 Hours Special Orientation
 10 Hours Skill Training.
 30 Hours For Campus Work.
 70 Hours Community Work.
REGULAR ACTIVITIES

 Urban work - Traffic Regulation, Visiting


Hospitals, etc.,
 Blood Donation.
 HIV/AIDS Awareness Programmes.
 Environmental Awareness.
 Life Skill Education.
 Women Development & Gender Justice.
 Organizing Work - Shops / Seminars in order to
make aware on above subjects the Volunteers.
SPECIAL CAMP

Special Camping Programme ( For 7 days)


Under this Programme Camps of 7 days duration
are organized under specific themes in the adopted
Villages / Slums by involving local youth along
with NSS Volunteers. (50% of the unit strength can
participate in the Special Camp). The activity will
be carried out under some special theme from time
to time.
Every year the theme of the Special Camp will be
announced by the Government of India on
important issues of the country. Sometimes a single
theme may be followed for two or three years.

 2006-2009 ---- 26,59,896

 2014 ---- 32 Lakhs

 2021 ---40 Lakhs & above

10 % of NSS Volunteers are from Tamilnadu


NSS Day

 NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth

centenary year of the Father of the Nation.

 Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day.

PROGRAMMES SUCCESSFULLY

 Adoption of local areas near by College


 Adoption of Village for NSS Camp and for Outreach
Program
 Activities through Organised Unit
 Activities through Department Outreach Program
 After Completion – certified by Program Officers &
Principal for sending it to COE through HOD

 One credit to the student who has completed the


outreach Program recently

 Two credits to the students who involved themselves in


outreach program and other social activities.

 II Year Class Counselor will be the in - charge of


department outreach programs.

 Need to provide Diary to all the Students

President of Panchayat Village .
• Need to identify problems faced by the people / continuous
supervision.
• Just Visiting /Doing Social Services /Creating Fixed Assets.
• Report before and after adoption / work.
• Certificate from representative of Village /Area In – Charge .
