ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE WORK OF THE HOLY SYNOD OF ALL HIERARCHS OF THE GENUINE ORTHODOX CHURCH ‘The Secretariat of the Holy Synod of All Hierarchs of the Genuine Orthodox Church, hereby announce that the Hierarchs of the Genuine Orthodox Church convened today 7 February 2019, under the presidency of the Metropolitan of Kition Bishop Parthenios, in an extraordinary meeting after the serving of a multi- bishop concelebration in the Sacred Church of the Holy Three Hierarchs in Troulloi of Cyprus, of which participated their Eminences, a) Kirikos of Mesogaia, Lavreotiki and Acharnai b) Gerondios of Vrancea and Romania c) Efstathios of Patra and d) Seraphim of Lebanon and Phoenicia, Hieromonk Gerasimos Kosmas representing Metropolitan Pachomios of Argolis and Corinth. The position of secretary was served by Hieromonk Gerasimos Kosmas. The Synod made the following decisions: First. The presidency of the Holy Synod of All Hierarchs of the Genuine Orthodox Church was assigned to His Eminence Metropolitan of Argolis and Corinth, Pachomios, as the most senior in order. The vice-presidency was assigned to the His Eminence Metropolitan of Mesogaia, Lavreotiki and Acharnai, Kirikos, who will also fill in for the President when he is impeded or absent. Whenever an urgent meeting is called in an episcopate or metropolitan jurisdiction outside of Greece, then the Local Bishop may preside in the meeting. The secretarial responsibilities will be exercised by the chief secretary of the Holy Synod of the Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece; and filling in his stead or in assisting him, will be another clergyman, who will be appointed by him who will be presiding, depending on the circumstances. Second. For pastoral reasons and for the better spiritual serving of the Christians in countries wherein no local bishops exist, the following have been appointed as either acting bishop or exarch: His Eminence Bishop Parthenios of Kition was appointed, as he was till this day, acting bishop of the United Kingdom (England), maintaining the privileges and rights to date of the Saints Constantine2 & Helen Parish in Birmingham. His Eminence Bishop Kirikos of Mesogaia, Lavreotiki and Acharnai was appointed acting bishop of North America (United States of America, and Canada). His Eminence Bishop Matthew of Kenya was appointed, as he was till this day, acting bishop of Tanzania. His Eminence Bishop Efstathios of Patra was appointed, as he was till this day, acting bishop of Australia. His Eminence Bishop Gerondios of Vrancea was appointed exarch for the countries Italy and Spain. His Eminence Bishop Seraphim of Kiev was appointed exarch of Russia. His Eminence Bishop Seraphim of Lebanon and Phoenicia was appointed acting bishop of India and exarch of the countries France and Belgium. Third. The standpoint and the position of His Eminence of Larissa and ‘Tyrnavou, Amphilochios will be confronted with man-befriending anticipation and patience until willingness for cooperation and acceptance of the decisions of the Holy Synod of all Hierarchs of the Genuine Orthodox Church and of the Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece is exhibited. Fourth. As part of the implementation of decision 27-1-2019 of the Holy Synod of All Hierarchs of the GOC, concerning the performance of the consecration of Holy Myrrh this coming Great and Holy Thursday, His Eminence Metropolitan Parthenios of Kition was appointed Rite Master (Teletarches-tedetdpxns), preparation and performance of the consecration of Holy Myrrh. Fifth. It was decided that the commemorative event in memory of the Pontian Greeks (Hellenes) be held on the 19% of May 2019, on the centenary of the genocide of the Pontian Greeks, under the auspices of the Holy Synod of the Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece and the solicitude of the Holy Metropolis of Mesogaia, Lavreotiki and Acharnai. Sixth. It was decided the next meeting of the Holy Synod of All Hierarchs of the Genuine Orthodox Church be scheduled for, if possible, the 15" of May 2019, at the Holy Trinity Monastery of Examilia, Corinth of Greece, to honour him who on that day will be celebrating his Name Day, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Pachomios of Argolis and Corinth and President of the Holy Synod. Furthermore, a celebratory hierarchal con-celebration will take place on Friday of Bright Week in Romania.
