Self can be understood in various methods.

And upon understanding your self, one will know what

should be the goal of life is. Sabi nila, makikilala mu ang sarili mu thru ur roots. Si Sigmund Freud nman
ang sabi kung paano ka dw pinalaki. Ung iba, sa experiences na napagdaanan mu. Pero connected din un
ky Freud. Lahat un naniwala na ang material body is the self. And that if the self is made from material
energy, therefore, u can understand the self by understanding one’s body or mind. Some scientists went
as deep as dissecting someone’s brain ang heart trying to find the self, the owner of the body and the
mind, the one who’s thinking and experiencing everything. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

I am a spiritual being. What I need is actual spiritual food, a loving relationship with the Supreme
Person, our Supreme Father. But because I am covered with flesh and bones, material mind and tons of
false pride and material desires, every time I identify myself as this material body, I always end up
frustrated, disappointed, and heart broken. Only and only the causeless mercy of the Supreme Person
and His merciful representative and devotees, the chanting of His holy names can deliver us from the
daily suffering caused by the living in material world and identifying the self as the temporary body. And
ultimately, go back home, back to Godhead.

All this tiny, glittering specks of material possessions and prestige seems so attractive and significant for
now. But, like a fish taken out from water, there are no wealth, no titles, nor any sensual pleasures be
enough to satisfy a lonely creature away from home.

Material possessions are good, these will make material existence easy. But it shouldn’t be your goal.
