Determine on how depression and anxiety agred overall being and lowering
depression and anxiety

INTRODUCTION

Depression is associated with clinical coronary events, but the association between
history of major depression and subclinical cardiovascular disease in women is not
yet known. We determined the association between lifetime history of major
depression and subclinical carotid atherosclerosis in middle-aged women.
Lifetime history of major depression was associated with plaque, and substance
abuse was related to intima-media thickness. Lifetime history of an anxiety
disorder was not associated with either measure.
Depressed individuals sleep and exercise less, have poorer diets, and smoke and
use alcohol and other drugs more than non depressed individuals. Although we
found no significant differences in these risk behaviors among the groups.
The evaluation of medical marijuana for depression is still in its early stages. Right
now, researchers share that possible benefits include the restoration of “normal”
end ocannabinoid function and mood stabilization.
Scientists at the University at Buffalo have begun looking into medicinal marijuana
as a possible treatment for depression caused by chronic stress. The school’s
Research Institute on Addictions (RIA) has been focusing specifically on brain
chemicals called endocannabinoids
