My name is Jeonghyeon Kim and I am a student in English 9A Honors in Mr. Rivas’s

class. I attend a school called Robert F. Kennedy in Los Angeles. In English 9A Honors we
learned how to be a global learner. We read a lot of texts and speeches and analyze them to write
essays or writing assignments. Los Angeles is a city located in California. It is famous for being
the center of nation’s film and television industry. It is a city that is a home to many stars’.

We are about to read Harper Lee’s ​To Kill a Mockingbird. ​ We are reading this novel, but
it is very different from Los Angeles. I want to learn more about Monroe county. It is very
different from LA so I want to compare and contrast LA to your county. It will also be a great
help to learn about the county before reading Harper Lee’s novel.
