ICT is extremely important in developing skills for further education.

The four ICT tools used

in the three lessons are word, kahoot, tagcrowd, IMovie and popplet. Using these ICT tools
allows students to learn about a topic at hand while also learning how to effectively use ICT
in an educational way which can also keep students on task. Kahoot is being used as a
learning tool as students are advancing their reading skills and having to think quickly on the
spot while confidently giving their answer. Tagcrowd is used to get the most popular answer
of a question asked to the class. This allows students to write in their researched answers
using correct literacy skills and finding the most common answer throughout the classroom.
Tagcrowd also allows you to see the not so popular answers so that the class can still see
everyone’s responses to the question. IMovie allows students to film themselves and each
other whilst also using effects and subtitles to enhance their project. Students can
incorporate pictures and music into their project. IMovie provides many opportunities for
students to branch out and be creative whilst learning about point of view and having to use
literacy skills to produce the movie. Popplet is useful in full class discussion, group or pair
discussions and individual discussions. Popplet is used for brainstorming ideas and is helpful
and easy to use for students. ICT is particularly important for visual learners as they are able
to see, edit and create to the best of their ability. It is also useful as students are able to
edit, delete and re do easier than that on paper and pen. ICT can be used for students with
disabilities as well as it is easy to use and students have room to be creative.
