Pengertian Personal Letter

Jika kita berbicara mengenai pengertian personal letter atau definition of personal letter
maka dapat kita katakan secara sederhana bahwa personal letter adalah sebuah surat yang
dikirim oleh seseorang secara individu kepada orang lain atau pun instansi tertentu. Intinya
adalah surat ini di kirim oleh perorangan dan bukan merupakan surat dari sebuah instansi,
organisasi atau perusahaan.

Jenis Personal Letter

Jenis-Jenis Personal letter dapat dibagi menjadi :

 Holiday/Celebration letter
 Farewell letter : Written to say goodbye to someone who is moing interstate or
overseas,or changing school (ditulis untuk mengucapkan selamat tinggal kepada
seseorang yang pindah negara bagian atau keluar pulau. Atau juga pindah sekolah)
 Family Letter : Written to a family members to share recent news (ditulis untuk
anggota keluarga yang bertujuan membagi berita terbaru)
 Pen friend letter : Written to a pen friend.
 Fan Mails : Written to someone you idolise or admire (ditulis untuk seseorang yang
kamu idolakan atau sukai)

Dear Ashley,

Thank you for your letter. It’s always a pleasure to receive your letters.
You asked me how I spent the summer. Well, it was not the best summer of my
life. First, I caught a cold and was sick for two weeks. Because of this I could not go
to a youth camp and I spent a month in a stuffy city.
Then the weather turned bad and again I had to stay home. Only in August, I
managed to go hiking with friends. We had a lot of fun and sang songs around the
campfire.
How is your new dog? Did it get used to you? What do you feed it?
Well, I’ve got to finish. It is now 11:00 pm, it’s time to sleep.

menandakan sebab akibat, misalnya: because, for, since, when, dan as.

Paragraf cause and effect mempunysi sebuah susunan atau generic structure seperti dibawah
ini:

1. Mempunyai gagasnn utama pada kalimat topik yang akan di bahas dalam isi
kseluruhan paragraf.
2. Mempunyai supporting detail atau kalimat-kalimat penunjang yang berupa penyobab.
3. Diakhiri dengan sebuah kesimpulan yang berupa akibatnya.

Pada bagian ini kita akan membahas tentang pengertian Explanation Text . Apa yang
dimaksud Explanation Text? Yang dimaksud dengan Explanation Text adalah teks yang
digunakan untuk menerangkan cara (proses) sesuatu terjadi, terutama yang berkaitan dengan
fenomena alam, dunia ilmiah atau sosial budaya. Tujuan nya untuk memberitahu kepada
pembaca atau pendengar bagaimana sesuatu itu terjadi. Sebuah Explanation text biasanya
berasal dari pertanyaan penulis terkait ‘why’ dan ‘how’ terhadap suatu fenomena yang ada.

Generic Structure Explanation Text

 A general statement

Yaitu pengenalan suatu peristiwa yang akan kita ceritakan. Atau penjelasan umum tentang
peristiwa tersebut. Dalam general statement berisi tentang penjelasan umum tentang
fenomena yang akan dibahas, bisa berupa pengenalan fenomena tersebut atau penjelasannya.
  A sequenced of explanation

Yaitu penjelasan mengapa dan bagaimana peristiwa itu terjadi. Dalam bagian ini penulis
dapat menulis lebih dari satu paragrap. A sequenced of explanation berisi tentang penjelasan
proses mengapa fenomena tersebut bisa terjadi atau tercipta. A squenced of explanation
berupa jawaban dari pertanyaan ‘why’ dan ‘how’ penulis ketika membuat sebuah
Explanation text. Dalam squenced of explanation bisa terdiri lebih dari satu paragrap.

 Closing

Yaitu penutup atau kesimpulan dari cerita tersebut. Sebenarnya closing itu tidak tercantum
dalam generic structure dari Explanation text, tetapi kebanyakan orang beranggapan bahwa
paragrap terakhir dari sebuah Explanation text adalah closing, padahal itu merupakan bagian
dari squenced of explantaion yang berisi tentang langkah akhir yang dijelaskan pada bagian
squenced of explanation.

A rainbow

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and

dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It
takes the form of a multicoloured arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the
section of sky directly opposite the sun.

Rainbows can be full circles; however, the average observer sees only an arc formed by
illuminated droplets above the ground, and centred on a line from the sun to the observer’s
eye.

In a primary rainbow, the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This
rainbow is caused by light being refracted when entering a droplet of water, then reflected
inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.

In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its
colors reversed, with red on the inner side of the arc.
