During his first he school’s Instructional Coach and IEP Coordinator, I was his mentor. In every visit to Mr. Rice's class, I our school, as observed his ability to engage every leamer, manage behavior and differentiate his instruction, Mr. Rice asked for help when needed and worked hard to implement the recommendations given to him. His dedication resulted in“Highly elson Framework. In his task to be a more effective educator, he assessed Effective” ratings in many domains of the Dan himself c in which he needed more development. He never hesitated to look for nstantly to identify the area: opportunities that would enrich him as a teacher: Since we formed a Data Team in 2015 to develop ad n for teachers to record students performance in their IEP goals, Mr. Rice has became the person who not only develops but also maintains the IEP-DCAT, a system that he ereated based on our vision. The Administrative Team relies heavily on Mr. Rice to maintain the 721Q Data System and to support teachers in collectin, and using data to make informed decisions. Mr. Rice facilitates many of the professional development sessions in instruction and assessment for our teachers during our PLNS. Afier [ became an Assistant Principal, Mr. Rice became the person in charge of IEPs. In September of 2018, he became our IEP Coordinator and Special Education Liaison, a role that was previously mine. It has been my honor to see how Mr. Rice has extended my work making it better and more effective. His sophisticated knowledge of technology, special education and policy and his ability to teach adults make him the perfect person for this role. During the years we have worked together, I have witnessed how much Mr. Rice grew professionally. Mr. Rice is a great team worker. He constantly shares his knowledge with his peers in a patient manner, He welcomes them into his office to share best practices and provides them with 1:1 support the same way he welcomed them when he was in the classroom, Me. Rice is a very dedicated teacher who always prioritizes the students. He embraces the mission of our school for promoting independence. He has been an essential person in improving the culture of our school with his commitment, Knowledge and positive attitude. I would highly recommend Mr, Peter Rice for tenure this year.
