Communities in Schools

This year Miller was fortunate enough to partner with the Barbra
Bush foundation to bring a very special and unique event to our
campus. I was fortunate to work with the Houston Area Urban
League to present out students and parents with an amazing guest
speaker, a free dinner, and scholastic books for all students! We had
an amazing turn out.
Students got to express in poetry form how they interrupted a
story that was read to the audience. Encouraging the youth to read
and write and to be expressive in their thoughts was truly great to
hear. The Houston Area Urban League’s main educational support
model is for both children and parents is designed to expose,
encourage and position the child to ultimately succeed
academically at home and in a global environment. The evening
was full of encouragement, food, fun, and learning.
