INTRODUCTION

Work Immersion is part of Senior High school (Grade 11 & 12) curriculum. This
program aims to provide relevant learning experiences to the students by giving them
first-hand exposure to the actual workplace setting, or to be trained in a realistic work
environment.

According to the Department of Education, this program is an 80-hour hands-on

encounter which Senior High Students must experience to open them to the genuine
working environment setting and improve their abilities learned in school. The
Department of Labor and Employment said work this is an integral part of the K to 12
Program in fully realizing its goal to produce job-ready graduates equipped with
industry-based skills. DOLE strongly affirms that work immersion contributes to the full
realization of the objectives of the K to 12 Program.

Students would be able to apply the skills they have learned in school, familiarize
themselves in the workplace, and develop abilities use in their future employment which
is to learn more about their chosen field and decide on a course that they will pursue in
College.

It aims to make the learners appreciate the importance and application of the
principles and theories learned in school, enhance their technical knowledge and skills,
enrich their skills in communications and human relations and develop good work
habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work.
WORK IMMERSION EXPERIENCES

Having this immersion was really a good start to experience how does it feel to
be in a workplace. Two of my friends and I try to enter in 'Trial of court' which is where
the Judges and Attorney works. To tell you the truth that was really nervous and exciting
at the same time. At first, it's hard to find where we should train, cause they don't accept
Senior High students, their majority is a College student of course. But for our nonstop
searching, at last, we accepted in one of the branches there. They look so friendly, and
it's not totally the Judges and Attorney are there but the staff I think?

In our first day of training, I did not come. I was having a hard time telling my
parents about that Immersion. I came on the second day and all I can say it is really
exciting but boring and the same time, we are just waiting there for another task or
command by the OIC (Office incharge). Sometimes, we're just finding some files asked
by the other staffs.

After a weeks, we getting used to it about the things that we usually did looks like
it is our routine. Such as finding files, putting back the files, and the easiest was the
paging. I remember the day when everyone is busy and we gave us a task that needs to
bring in other floor, which is the Admin hall and we don't know where we should give the
papers, but atleast there is nice person who guide us.

Embarrassing moment when me and one of my School mate who give us a task
to bring the files or paper in 8th floor, that day I was so distracted by my personal
problem and my friend is also not in herself. As we enter the elevator, and once it's
unclosed, we immediately go out. I was so confused cause it's not look like before, and
we laughed so hard when we realized that we're in 6th floor and not in 8th floor!
Instantly entered again in elevator. That was the funniest day in our Immersion.

The saddest part of this immersion when we made a huge a mistake, actually it's
not our fault it was the other OJT's students there, they taught it was us who made a
problem, which is when the files is not in the right place, it should be always in proper
position or inorder cause there's possibility that it will have a hard time to find some files.
So my two friends and I take an action, first we immediately put the files in where it
should be and tell the staff that is not us after all and it was misjudged.

Over all, I am glad for another experiences that I will treasure the most. There, I
have experienced new things that aren’t familiar with the things I usually do at school. I
have met new people. And learned something.
GENERALIZATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

We, the students who in Immersion should observe in our surroundings exactly
when we are in our workplace. I actually observed that people there are putting so much
effort for completing the task given to them and they totally love their Jobs.

I learned that punctuality is very essential because in this simple way, you can
how serious you are to your job, next would be patience. Patience when it comes to the
tasks that they’re going to give you, as well as the times that you’re just waiting for the
next task that will be given to you, even if you already got bored waiting for nothing. And
lastly, know your limitations because not all the people can deal with your personality,
be a genuine and true person because being like that will makes people happy to you.
Always have a positive mind because positivity is next to tranquility.

I highly recommended that find a Job that suit your essential skills that also build
your learner and you will truly love. Good luck!
